1. If those "game shows" were to be of major help for ABC, they would have done them a while ago, when they actually had a chance to can The View and before The Chew went on the air. And no way in hell, ABC gives back that hour to its affiliates. What some posters seem to forget is that The View is still doing very well for the network--ratings wise and revenue wise. Why would they get rid of a show that still makes them money? All the problems the show has been plagued with over the last few years get magnified by the gossip mags, but despite that, they are doing well.

 2. I never cared once about View, Chew and GH so these daytime game shows would be of major help to ABC. If not, then give the 11:00am hour to ABC affiliates. Midday is now under death's knees for ABC. Might as well give it up and have 9am-12pm, all free for affiliates.

 3. Ironcially, the last daytime game show that aired on ABC was Match Game '90, hosted Canadian comedian Ross Shaffer. And that show wasn't cleared in all markets since many of them started airing the news at 12pm.

 4. Does Pete currently work full-time behind the scenes, or is he just part-time or per diem?

 5. WTKR set to add a weeknight sports anchor for the first time in about 7-8 years this summer with the hiring of KEYE's Adam Winkler Maybe the station's expecting to have something they hadn't had for nearly a quarter-century prior to pulling the plug on the sports report: stability (and perhaps WTKR is planning to highlight Winkler's youth compared to veteran sports anchors Bruce Rader at WAVY and WVEC's Scott Cash).

 6. We're throwing around the 'phobics' like they're baseballs! I'm one of those gays, and I think Thomas Roberts is awful and not evening anchor material. Robin Red brings up solid points and I agree with a bunch of it. NBC would be smart not to bring anyone over from MSNBC.

 7. The KTNV open reminds me of WILX during their "Action News" era.

 8. Yes, the ratings have declined over the years, but that was from their all time high's in show history. They're still beating The Talk (barely). As far as game shows, they'll have a hard time putting one up to compete against TPIR.

 9. I hate to do this because it runs into speculation but let's say ABC pulls "The View", Do they give that hour back to the affiliates or move it to 9am for a GMA extra hour?

Some wabc news Liz Cho pled gulity in her traffic case and was fined $75 http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/manhattan/wabc-liz-cho-pleads-guilty-driving-suspended-license-article-1.2641494 and some good news Bill Ritter will graduate from The New School 44 years after he was kicked out of San Diego State for protesting the war http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wabc-anchor-getting-degree-44-years-after-being-booted-from-sdsu/170630

 12. Good for him making such a homecoming return. Hope he lasts long and does very well again. Funnily enough, a few days ago I watched a TL Hughes video on the station's news opens and May was seen as an anchor for a few years (which I hadn't known about). I guess that's some type of foreshadowing in my mind.

 13. Former WAGA anchor Amanda Davis was on WGCL last night talking about her DUI's http://www.cbs46.com/clip/12444985/amanda-davis-answers-questions-about-her-dui-crash This is the first time Davis has been on TV since her forced retirement from Fox5 after a DUI. WGCL hired her last year as part of their "just a minute" commentary, where longtime Atlanta reporters give their thoughts on the news of day. Before she could start she was arrested for another DUI. I can't help but think her being on WGCL now is part of a May Sweeps ratings stunt.
