  1. I think Cindy stated on Facebook recently that she prefers working evenings to mornings. It's easier to have a more normal sleep/life schedule that way. But she always just goes with the flow and smiles while doing whatever is asked of her. There was a brief time years ago (around 2007) when it seemed like they'd let anyone other than Cindy anchor. Seemed like she was on her way out. But then they put her on weekends and she's back to filling in on weekday mornings. You can tell from both on-air and social media comments that the other anchors love having her there.

  2. On second thought, Carol Sbarge could be a strong contender to be Erin Coleman's replacement. I thought she was a long shot, but now I don't know. She's been on not only at noon this week, but also at 4, in addition to 6 and 11 today and Monday when Jovita Moore was absent. I think yesterday she was on at noon, 4,5,6 and 11. I would think if Wendy was a favored frontrunner she would be getting more airtime at the anchor desk wouldn't she? Wendy has only been on twice this week so far at 5pm today and Monday.

  3. I have remembered Jim Douglas on TV when he worked at KXAS NBC 5. I wish him all the best.

  4. Anyone know what happened to Bryan Salmond, WFMZ's new Sports Director? He seems to be MIA. His bio is gone from the website as well. I may have just missed his departure if it was over the holiday weekend...or maybe he is just hanging out with Rick Edwards.

  6. Why not have her do (2) newscast, which wouldn't be hard to do, and I don't think should would want to come in just to do (1) newscast. WSB being the leader likes to have a heavy bench of anchors.

  7. I picked up on that hypothesis immediately too, but via a different route. If I'm correct... What KATV, WIXT, and WJXT used is the "original" One & Only, based off of the 1978 iteration of the famous image. I've seen a recording of WTOP using the cut in the WJXT open, there is a recording of a WIXT ID from '78 on YouTube with an identical logo/music to WTOP, and KATV's image song on the NMSA mentions how "we give it all we've got". What WPLG and KSAT used is "Call it Home" jury-rigged to fit "The One & Only" slogan. The general melody to the news theme has the three-note signature, and the promo heard in image sample #1 for WPLG on the NMSA (and seen at the beginning of the reel) even includes the line "The one, the beat, where you can call it home..." There is also this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=xNKx9woVNjc;m=6;s=17
