  1. NBC10 is finnaly switching up the camera that feeds the background video in the studio. Its obviously very crisp like the camden camera but only works well during the day, i wonder if they will switch back after the DNC.

  3. I understand your rant. I'm just making that part clear about myself though. Also, have you heard of the phrase "If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It?" They live on that mentality and it works. As you said, "Philadelphians don't like change", which is why the station has been so successful over the decades. But I'm not like most people. I like change, I'm open to it, and in most times I embrace it. I understand there are risks to a change and will take a while for people can get with it, like WCAU for example. Sometimes it can work and people praise it (like their news coverage), and other times it won't and people can complain (like the WWA coverage changing stations). WPVI is what it is because no change got them success, and people love it because they can come home to the people they really know every night. If people want to go to WCAU for news, cool. That's something that should happen. And yet, here we are. I get it; I understand you don't like what WPVI is about. That's fine. I want WCAU to win somewhere in the ratings right now too (I've also watched its newscasts since I was a kid too), but I really don't think it'll happen soon...and honestly. And get you don't care for what I have to say, but the thing is, at the end of the day everyone won't like the same thing or change.

  4. It was not a car crash, by the way. She fell off a waterfall ledge-- one that I've visited before. http://wlos.com/news/local/authorities-confirm-georgia-news-anchor-died-in-rainbow-falls-incident

  5. On second thought, Carol Sbarge could be a strong contender to be Erin Coleman's replacement. I thought she was a long shot, but now I don't know. She's been on not only at noon this week, but also at 4, in addition to 6 and 11 today and Monday when Jovita Moore was absent. I think yesterday she was on at noon, 4,5,6 and 11. I would think if Wendy was a favored frontrunner she would be getting more airtime at the anchor desk wouldn't she? Wendy has only been on twice this week so far at 5pm today and Monday.

  6. Anyone know what happened to Bryan Salmond, WFMZ's new Sports Director? He seems to be MIA. His bio is gone from the website as well. I may have just missed his departure if it was over the holiday weekend...or maybe he is just hanging out with Rick Edwards.

  7. Very interesting, I always assumed that was another iteration of "The One & Only" (and that's what it's under in NMSA). I first heard that promo cut in a WPLG promo, where it had "The One & Only TV ___" melody. (You can hear that version of the music many times in the 1980 WPLG promo reel that's also posted above.) But in that KFMB promo, it has a different melody. Could it have started out as "Call It Home" and then been modified to fit into the WPLG version of "The One & Only" later?
