1. Plenty of "buyers" out there....just not a lot of banks or investors stupid enough to get into another cumuless- clearchannel fiasco. \ I'm not a fan of TV's selling off the am/fm's of legacy calls. It's as bad as selling off one of your children. Good radio still does make money in many markets. Radio survived TV, newspapers, newsreels ,Talkies, free porn and a slew of other attackers so far.

 2. Yeah, even if the current primetime repeats are shifted by 30 minutes (Chris Hayes at 11:30, Rachel at 12:30, etc.) it just comes off as odd. Or would they air a condensed "Hardball" rerun at 11:30?

 3. Here's the new theme song. Along with a preview of a new look? Overall, it looks good.

 4. WTVR has CBS 6 Xtra on .3, which airs previous newscasts on a continuous loop 24/7. For example, they rerun the 6am hour of the morning news until noon, 12:30-5pm is the noon news, so on and so forth. Plus they'll air regular CBS programming in the event of longform breaking news coverage.

 5. Even though NBC 5 isn't my cup of tea, they should be commended for the moves they've made in the last few years to push themselves up the ratings ladder. That said, what is with the talent moves? They are setting themselves up to be so bloated in the weather (7) and sports department (4), while working with a not small, but understaffed anchor bench. I can't help but think they're potentially playing around too much. They've been the proof that viewer loyalties can change, so you hope they know what they're doing, cause it can all change quickly.

 6. Kevin Frazier from ET does the same thing for Litton with Game Changers; it's pretty quick and good work. Just come into a studio for a couple hours, introduce a bunch of human interest pieces in front of a portrait-set LCD panel, and there's your easy money. There are so many issues I have with Litton and their insane abuse of the E/I edicts to monopolize the market, but these are simple resume ticks to help you show you do more than morning TV.

 8. Lara is going in for hip replacement surgery. The general recovery time is 4 to 6 weeks. Good luck to her, of course, but I wonder is there's ANY chance that she gets shelved/reassigned while she's gone...even though that move seems more like something out of the Today show playbook.
