  1. It's PIX lol. God only knows next week they'll probably have a shot of the newsroom or something

  2. When Joe Holden & Rahel Solomon filled in it was a better newscast, Jim Donovan may be a good consumer reporter but he's no anchor.

  3. We take you back to 1991 where KOLR 10 NewsBeat brought you news, weather, sports and all the "color" (as in KOLR) of the Ozarks. Here is a KOLR 11am news open from that period. The open begins with an ID at 1:28 into the video. Here is another KOLR news open from that period. It uses the evening news open. The open for the 6pm starts at 1:44 into the video. That year, KY3's "Action News" opened its midday newscast using "Power News" by 615 Music. The open is seen at 0:26 into the video.

  6. It is. I understand the need for WNBC to have a bigger studio as you can see the studio was cramped. I almost feel like this maybe a temporary studio for MSNBC to get them through the election. Or NBC simply wants to use all those vertical monitors until they die as they were over six figures a piece when the studio was built. The shot blocking is also really weird. I would either have the host use the background of the vertical monitor walls and shoot the guests against the other vertical monitor wall. It looks a bit sloppy with the host having one background and the guests with another oddly video wall shaped wall. Additionally the video wall they added to 3C looks like they didn't bother calibrating the monitors to one another - they appear to have different settings. I would also have gotten a high resolution backdrop of the fourth floor newsroom as it's not that crisp. Or they should just rely on one of the cameras WNBC uses for the virtual window. It's like MSNBC or 30 Rock has this budget for set design and doesn't know what to do with it. In the past year they debuted the Brian William'a cube in 3A, expanded its weather center, added LED video tiles to its wall (while neglecting another wall), they move into another glassed in studio on the fourth floor along with actually going into the open newsroom and now they debut this.

  7. Saw a promo saying how "they've got us covered" on election night. Included a collage of all their reporters faces and Bob Jordan was in there. Looks like he's coming back for the election.

  8. KCRA has been #1 in Sacramento by a monolithic margin since like the 1950s. There's no way Tegna will put a dent in that no matter what they do. I'm pretty sure if KXTV would run Andy Griffith and Leave it to Beaver reruns at 5, 6 and 11 instead of news they'd pull in better numbers.
