  1. WMAQ's President and GM is now taking over the same role for their Telemundo sister station WSNS. He's replacing Chris McDonnell, who led Telemundo Chicago since 2002, who left the company. The plan is to save money and increase efficiencies. I think this may be the third NBC/Telemundo duop that shares GMs the other two being WCAU/WWSI in Philadelphia and KNTV/KSTS serving the Bay Area. In Miami WTVJ/WSCV will soon be sharing a VP from WMAQ to serve as a VP Director of Digital Operations. http://www.robertfeder.com/2016/11/11/nbc-5-boss-david-doebler-adds-telemundo-station/

  2. New sets, new stations, new radars, new choppers, and storm buggys 4 all. Expect the money faucet to close up real soon....like Nov. the 9th. Yes, the Revolution starts on the 9th, but advertisers my be a bit slow on the up-take with new civil war ads. Shoes and electronics do well during civil wars.

  4. I watched this train wreck Friday night 10/21 called "Late News Tonight". (Disclaimer: I haven't watched KXTV in like forever) Looks as if they ditched the studio for the remodeled newsroom (pardon me, "Information Center" lol) and Mendonsa was anchoring by herself. Some anchor segments looked pre-recorded and a severely disjointed moment came when there was a breaking news segment about comedian Kevin Meaney's death and they tossed to a .com desk. They jumped to a commercial break just as the .com anchorette (who also can't read a tweet worth a damn; she butchered it) was about finish up on Meaneys death. Looked like automation gone awry. The opening they use doesn't even use local shots of the Sacramento area, it all looks like stock photos of some other cities skyline and freeways. It looks hilarious. So bad that I think the average viewer will actually notice it! I bailed out after about ten minutes into it... it seemed like I wasn't getting any of the important news of the day. All fluff and BS.

  5. Nope, but just thinking about the alternative universe, what they would've avoided if they promoted Lester to Today. He is a well liked anchor and well rounded so the transition won't be a big deal. It seems to me that Today show is still trying hard to rehab Lauer's image even though majority of viewers can't stand him. I think he was asked cause he filled in last week after the tape debacle. Today show is suffering from PR crisis with the Billy Bush tape. So reason why he is asked cause Lester Holt is a good and stable presence that NBC always needs. To me, I think he has done so much to rehab NBC's bad image and crisis. Look at how Lauer flooped that townhall forum and his negligence put all that unnecessary pressure and drama on Lester Holt which distracted away from doing the debate and gave the candidates ammunition to play the ref.
