  1. Thus creating one of the biggest "what could have beens" in the history of network television news; as CBS was reportedly planning to add her to the 60 Minutes team in 1973 (as it was, the first black member of the 60 Minutes team would be when Ed Bradley took the spot vacated when Dan Rather was promoted to CBS Evening News anchor; while 3 years later Diane Sawyer would be the first woman to be a correspondent for the series). Also among the dead in that crash were Illinois Congressman George Collins and Dorothy Hunt (wife of E. Howard of the then-brewing Watergate scandal; reportedly carrying about $10,000 in hush money)

  5. I can't even see PBB working in PHX because people are too well behaved in AZ. I'm really kinda shocked that nobody local in the B.A. picked him up. He is also a pretty solid beat reporter.

  6. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/8/9/big-loss-in-the-bay-area Famous in my book! Nexstar and KRON just lost a good reporter and a household brand. I hope Penny-Pinchin' Perry is happy.

  8. IMO, Don Harris looks more like the late, great Chip Moody of WFAA.

  10. What midday newscast anywhere has more than 2 midday anchors at one time? I know some stations have a rotation with weekend anchors, but that doesn't count.

  12. I'll soon report it on my blog. Speaking of the blog... while WNCN has expanded its noon newscast to a full hour as of yesterday, history was made over at Sacramento's KOVR when it has decided to move its 11:00 p.m. news from KMAX to KOVR and expand it to weekends. This means that KOVR has become the first BIG Three O&O station/affiliate to air 90-minutes of local news from 10:00-11:35 p.m. every night. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2018/07/31/small-minor-newscast-changes-221/
