3. He was Milwaukee's answer to Marvin Zindler. Sad news from WITI-TV, long time TV6 News Anchor and Contact 6 consumer watchdog Tom Hooper has passed away at the age of 85. Over the course of his 35-year career in local news, most of it as Contact 6 anchor, Hooper's name be synonymous with the journalism principles of comforting the affected and giving voice to the voiceless. Hooper died this evening in his home in Georgia at 85. Prayers and condolences goes to The Hooper Family and his extended family at TV6 News (FOX 6 News WITI). RIP Tom and Godspeed. Say hello to Vince Gibbens from all of us here, and tell him we still miss him. https://fox6now.com/2018/10/19/longtime-fox6-news-anchor-tom-hooper-passes-away-at-85/

 5. For the second time this year, a former WFMY anchor has died. This time, it's Lee Kinard, who had joined the station in 1956. He birthed the station's Good Morning Show and later went on to anchor evening newscasts. A studio at the station is named in his honor. Kinard would have turned 87 on November 5.

 7. If you are looking for Larry Elliott on WJRT ABC 12 in Mid-Michigan come Monday, then don't be. He has retired on Friday after working at WJRT for 39 years, since 1979. He was the principal anchor for WJRT's morning and noon broadcasts for like the last decade or so. https://www.abc12.com/content/news/ABC12-bids-farewell-to-Larry-Elliott-who-is-retiring-after-39-years-498044641.html

 8. I’m at my limit for The New Yorker but they have an article titled “The Growth of Sinclair’s Conservative Media Empire”. Here’s what Kyle Griffin (an MSNBC producer that you should follow for all the news of the day) tweeted out: Edit: I copied this post from the Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion to try my moderator powers and see how the copy post feature worked.

 9. The thing about this is if you and I made a controversial post on Social Media and our boss at work sees that, we would get fired. So the fact that the "General Manager" of KUSI hasn't fired his/her own "reporters" that have either made a controversial post on Social Media and/or have gotten themselves in trouble with the law speaks volumes that this so-called General Manager of KUSI does NOT care about establishing rules that say that your Social Media posts (personal page, professional page) cannot be controversial and if you get arrested and you're working for us (the station) then you will be terminated. But then again this is California we're talking about here and they will do whatever it takes to retain their employers

 12. At KBEX-TV we use IBM's Selectric desktops ... Sure we could upgrade to those new Apple II computers... But our Selectric's make that real "News Noise".
