  1. A KTRK open from 3/2/89 with a certain meteorologist missing in the open.... And back to that meteorologist. Here's the news segment on his sudden resignation.

  2. That’s every stations C block... 2 or 3 stupid stories after a break from weather and before a break for sports... If somebody wants to be different they’ll run their last 15 minutes a night as an expanded two segment sportscast... but hey... what do I know...

  4. She's not with TWC anymore. She left TWC in September. Looks like she's mainly been doing freelance work for NBC on the Today Show and on WNBC since then.

  5. There is no way Dylan will sustain working 7 days a week long term. Same goes for Sheinelle working 6 days. They'll have to have a day off during the week on a permanent basis (as Chuck Todd does) or dump their weekend duties all together & stick with the third hour during the week. They can easilly get somone from The Weather Channel to take Dylan's spot and someone from MSNBC to cover Sheinelle on Saturdays.

  6. How did we miss this?! Also NewsActive3’s latest video has lots of WHP and WPTM goodies - including their Third Coast open and a 2001 open! @susquvalleywgal I reposted the Third Coast open for my pleasure:

  8. Yes, there was an article in some publication where BNS management wanted Yolanda, but she was under contract with WSYX at the time. Kristyn was a horrible choice as Andrea's replacement. In some cases it always hard to find the right candidate when replacing someone who been there a long time. BNS whole contemporary branding/image is not them. It's the station with the old guard, but what they're not good at is the young demo where WSYX does well in. I read Mitch wasn't well liked in Phoenix, but did a good job at WTOL, but I guess that because of WTOL's #1 status during his time there.

  9. Media General tanking WCMH certainly helped WSYX's cause. But under Mitch Jacob, WSYX was Sinclair's golden boy getting all of the tools and expanded resources. Then along came the Allbritton buy and WJLA as Sinclair grew and grew and he was bumped up the food chain... Once the dust settles, WSMV will hopefully find it's groove again. What some of these managers don't realize is a "back to basics" approach can work wonders. Look at WVTM. And the same can be said with WAPT beating out WJTV in Jackson.

  10. Some of the momentum for WSYX was also lost once WBNS poached their talent (Yolanda Harris and Pete Scalia) and sterilized them. (You won't see this kind of "personality" when Yolanda is paired with Jerry Revish.)

  11. Their new news director "director of content" seems to want to make his impression on WKYC....and it isn't a good one. He's trying to turn their morning show into something like the Today show, but without the actual personalities who can pull this off. (Though arguably, Robin Swoboda could easily be the Kathie Lee Gifford in this scenario.) They're pulling a Fox 8 by making the news all about the personalities (Hollie Strano's "deeply personal story", an official dog "mascot," putting chocolate syrup on cereal) - but to me, it is just falling flat. (If you notice, their director of content rarely tweets actual news...it's an endless stream of love for Kathie Lee and Hoda...) These days are long behind us...
