  1. I think WTHR and WBNS have “minimalist” enough logos that the 1-color (White) versions will translate nicely to the TEGNA graphics. They (thankfully) didn’t change WTOL (even with that false alarm), so I think we’re likely to see those logos remain for a bit. Had WTHR not refreshed their logo a few years back, it might have been a different situation. With all this said, I could be completely wrong and both could be in for a downgrade a la WKYC. (But I’ve discussed my disdain for that more than I needed to, LOL .)

  2. Just wait till the Scripps people meet those huge rats...and I mean the furry ones...NOT the union ones. *No disrespect to union furry's.

  3. I really enjoyed those look backs yesterday. I'm happy that GMA finally seems to be taking a page out of Today's playbook and celebrating their history with much fanfare! I read an old article (2006ish) about the identity of morning television. The 80s were big on travel, 90s were about the street side studios. I'd say the 2000s were big on concerts and 2010s was all about pop news and ensemble casts. I'm interested to see what the 2020s brings, I'm personally hoping to see the ensemble approach go away and the two-anchor format return. More substance and less pop news.

  4. That building dates back to long before Tegna owned it (and past owners couldn't afford anything bigger). Regardless, the fact it survived Harvey tells something.

  5. $85,000 was the purchase price for Lilly to buy a TV station in the U.S. Virgin Islands. LeSEA is selling WCVI in Christiansted to Lilly in a deal that hit the FCC today. There's a preexisting relationship between the parties. WCVI has an ABC subchannel 23.2 which is Lilly's WENY, with paid programming and Lilly's "One Caribbean News" airing in non-network timeslots.

  6. Personally, "Go on 3" would be a better name for that because it's a known term.

  7. Some of you are haters. I don't think "Go" is such a bad name as it is being used alongside "3 News." It's different and it doesn't sound dated like calling it Eyewitness Action News or something like that. The way you guys were talking, I thought they were going to call it simply "Go," which is a little more awkward. I don't mind the name Go, but I don't think it conveys that it is a newscast. (It sounds like another "Extra" wannabe.) But "3 News: Go" is just fine depending on how they use it during the program.

  8. Can't wait to see Scripps destroying and butcher one of NYC's most iconic television stations. It's not going to be pretty imo.
