  1. It's fine how it is. It matches the plainness of everything else. I get you have a personal attachment to this particular station, but the graphics package just doesn't warrant this much attention. It's plain like the others, and no amount of orange will fix that, nor will they add orange to it.

  3. With the varying amount of posted material, whether local or network news, commercials, or even sports highlights, it's anybody's guess what ultimately got it removed.

  4. Congrats to CBS This Morning. Oprah is still the queen of American television, I wonder if CBS has other ideas for Winfrey going forward. The Gayle King connection was probably a big reason why CBS was able to get the rights to the special. Prior to this, Winfrey's broadcast home has always been ABC, the home of her syndicated series for many years on the O&Os.

  5. She sounds like a walking liability. Why do networkers even bother with her? Oh wait...I know. Because shes hot

  6. Wow, as I expected nothing exciting. I feel for these stations that will be stuck with these packages for years now.

  8. When the KUSA promo (Colorado USA...KUSA) came out, Channel 9 was still using 9 Country/11 Country, as was sister station Channel 11 in Twin Cities (WTCN/WUSA/KARE). I don't think that promo song went with the 9 Country/11 Country news theme music package. Furthermore, who composed 9 Country/11 Country remains a mystery.

  9. You're right. History will show WPIX was so much better under Tribune. PIX never looked better than when they were broadcasting their 10PM from this messy corner of the newsroom. That classic late 2010 set and graphics package from when Bill Carey blew up the 10pm news. Who can forget the giant green "iPad graphics", Mr. G's weather closet, and all the great commentary and round table discussions with Lionel and Larry Mendte. Hard-hitting news like this, And of course the seemingly daily "investigation" into the MTA. We're lucky to not have any good videos of the first weeks of this disaster. Even two years later, it was still a giant mess. About the only thing Scripps could possibly do to the station that Tribune didn't already try is to burn the place down for the insurance money, though with all those cheap extension cords in the lighting grid, it sure looks like they might have been trying.

  14. Robb Webb, the longtime voiceover of 60 minutes and who also announced the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, has died from COVID-19 complications at 82. He became 60 Minute's announcer in the mid-90's, and did other VO work as well. I've noticed there's been another announcer used lately.
