  1. I hate to say it, but you know who is the one free agent that would save this channel? Lou Dobbs.

  3. Yeah, those episodes got taken down on YouTube a while back. As i mentioned, those episodes are on Pluto TV so that's why they got taken down.

  5. They still do; Nosey has a channel on PlutoTV and I did catch an episode that was on the channel a couple of days ago. It was from around 1995 or '96 (I think that's the time frame of episodes Nosey has the rights to)......

  6. They must have made some deal with Geraldo Rivera or something. But I am not 100% sure.

  7. Wow; Lionsgate?! I've been kind of wondering for a long time who has the rights to the Geraldo show library. I know that Tribune Entertainment (which distributed "Geraldo") shut down sometime in 2007, so I was kind of thinking the library might either belong to Geraldo Rivera himself, another entity, or even Nexstar! I'm wondering how Lionsgate ended up with Geraldo, though! Come to think of it, there are a couple of episodes of Charles Perez's awful '90s talk show on YouTube, and it was distributed by Tribune back then. I wonder if Lionsgate has the rights to it as well, or if there is another entity that has them. Or do the tapes for Perez's show even exist (if Tribune had them destroyed, which is unlikely, I think Charles Perez himself may have a copy of every show he did)??

  8. Street Smarts is on YouTube now, and that one dating show that led to your channel takedown is also streaming on YT now. I'm a bit surprised that Johnny is allowed now. It's not just on Antenna TV, but there's also a 24/7 channel devoted to it on Pluto TV. Their main channel on YT has some rare stuff, like a 1985 Drew Carey stand-up skit. Those Carson episodes have a lot of value.

  9. And you also can't cam record off of your device either (which is strange considering for certain shows that's the only way of doing it without getting the video blocked)

  10. Yeah any newer material stuff will absolutely without question be blocked. I know my channel viewers prefer more modern stuff but I can't upload modern stuff not because I don't like it or anything like that it's just that I can't take that risk like that.

  11. Those 1982 episodes are the ones on Pluto. Didn't know that Fremantle has blocked slightly newer TPIR and LMAD.

  13. The way it looks and from this quote it sounds like they also have obtained the rights to broadcast games to the majority of their teams they currently have linear rights to on their DTC Platform Based on that I would say at least initally depending upon the RSN it'd only be used if there's like 3 or more games happening at the same time so that's one of the things those Bally Sports Extra overflow channels can be used for, beyond that I also see in certain cases where it's arranged to match the arrangement the Yankees has between Amazon and WPIX except it'd be exclusive to Sinclair and (depending upon the market) one other owner if its on an RSN that doesn't share common ownership with an existing Sinclair station. We'll see what happens but it looks like live games will be made available to their DTC platform to the majority of the clubs they already have linear rights to.

  14. When I had uploaded a partial 1993 newscast from KTVO-TV, Ch. 3, Kirksville, MO\Ottumwa, IA to YouTube last year, I was contacted by somebody that now works as a news director there, who was looking for old news clips to compile into a reel & thanked me for uploading what I had of the newscast. They also said that while the TV station does have some of their old newscasts archived on U-Matic & DVC Pro tapes, they no longer have the equipment needed to play them. I was also contacted by another person who, at the time I think, worked as a producer there as well & thanked me for uploading the partial newscast. These people contacted me through the videos comments section.

  15. Bob Wallace, a longtime WBBM personality, has died. For years, he was best known for his light-hearted feature reports, but here's a clip of him sitting in for Bill Kurtis in 1974: Here's WBBM's obit: https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2021/05/04/cbs2-bob-wallace-obit/

  16. It wasn't quite the takedown the screaming headline implied. It was more nuanced than I expected.

  17. Thanks for the Vegas newscasts, @compubit. Did you ever make it up to central/southeastern WA anytime in your news recording days, to record KEPR or KIMA, KNDU or KVEW? Just wanted to ask in case I missed a post somewhere along the way.

  18. I definitely did a double take when I saw Ed. That ended up sending me to this video with a 1987 open and Ed live from the Metrodome with an interview with Marv Albert (misindentified by the chyron guy as Herb Alpert).
