  1. It really makes me real sad that local broadcasters taken their own lives whether they suffering from depression, stress, or thoughts of suicide. We lost many of our favorite local personalities due to suicide and I'm not going to name name's out of respect to the deceased. I said it before and I'm going to say again, If you know someone you love (Family and/or Friends) who's suffering from depression and have thoughts of suicide, please call National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. They're here to help.

  2. A fifth isn’t necessarily out of the question. Weather is a hallmark for WABC. During severe weather, they often double team their weather people. They have found it useful to have one meteorologist work as weather producer for another during long newscast stretches like the mornings. WABC also has a history of putting weather people in the field to either do climate related stories, for community events, or during sweeps. It also isn’t out of the question that WABC and ABC could be bringing back a resource sharing agreement where WABC provides a weather person to ABC when network news needs one. And finally, the additional person gives them the opportunity to do more online weather updates, live or recorded. As far as the $$$ are concerned, ABC recently gave the owned stations additional specific money to add more diversity to their on-air talent. WABC’s weather team needs that.

  6. It’s also remarkable how much the personalities bloom when they jump to KTLA. Who would have know that Chris Schuable was as funny. Henry DiCarlo is a completely different personality than his days on CBS 2.

  8. A few newscasts from what I call my "Fringe Edition" - Stations not based in the main area of the market (Huntington Beach vs. LA, Conroe vs. Houston, Allentown vs. Philly, Santa Rosa vs. San Francisco and Flagstaff vs. Phoenix), as well as some very cringe-worthy offerings (KKTM and KTBU, IMHO). Bonus Points for anyone who makes it through Dan Patrick's KTBU "Newscast"... Extra Bonus Point for KKTM's...
