  1. True, I remember when I first got interested in sports in the early 2000s. I opened up my DirecTV guide and saw all of the "Fox Sports <Region>" channels. I was blown away at the time by all these FSNs that I had no idea existed!

  2. Maybe... But not Sinclair. Especially after the layoffs from the FOX RSNs. Maybe it could be refreshing for an independent company to start up an RSN. But that's just my opinion.

  3. Yeah I doubt it will pass regulatory muster. Not in its present form anyway.

  4. I'm surprised that Sinclair dropped out of the outsourcing venture with WTXL years back right after they gave up trying to do news on WTWC. The only news that the Tallahassee Sinclair stations carry is the FOX 49 newscast inherited from New Age produced by WCTV. Other than that, WEAR over in Pensacola produces their weather cut-ins.

  5. I can't even begin to process *THIS*! WCKT's (WSVN) Sunday Night News '76 With Carmel Cafiero.

  6. Truth to be told. Absolutely no one. In the age of streaming and all of that I believe the only way how stations like KDNL and WTWC ever sees newscasts again on their stations is through regional consolidation of TV stations.

  7. I still run into people that think FOX and/or FOX News are owned by Disney. They heard about Disney buying 20th Century, and didn't realize that the purchase excluded FOX and FOX News.

  8. Fox News as well as CNN & MSNBC are bad for the American public. They provide a hyperbolic sense of urgency to many continually unfolding matters and instill a fear in their viewers of the opposing political side. It's unfortunate that a lot of the less media literate will eat up whatever CNN, MSNBC, and Fox spews. What I've also noticed is that many average viewers don't make a distinction between The Fox News Channel, the Fox broadcast network and their local Fox affiliates. Case and point, someone I know questioned why I would watch "Fox News", after I had shared a screenshot of a weather forecast from a local Fox affiliate. Similarly, a friend of mine expressed skepticism that a network like Fox (associating it with the Fox News Channel) would air something like "Empire" , unaware that broadcast Fox had a history of airing urban and (and less conservative oriented) shows like In Living Color, Martin, Living Single and Married With Children. Interestingly enough big Fox airs shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons which have openly lampooned Fox & Fox News. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other major media entity that lets such sharp in house criticism of its parent corporation go uncensored.

  9. I beg to differ. There are no notable buildings in Philadelphia. In New York, there's the Empire State Building. In California, there's literally every building there. In Chicago, there is the Sears-Willis tower. In Philadelphia, there's nothing. You might as well put a Philly Cheese steak in the background and everyone will think, "look, it's Philadelphia."
