  1. No. It should run Friday & Saturday nights for three hours. You clearly don't understand why. But those are the only two nights it works. The current Abrams, Larkin show is a DUD. Get rid of it immediately. It has zero chance of ever being successful. Live PD is the only show that would put NewsNation on the map. But like A&E was doing, many other shows related to it would be created because of it. NewsNation would have to rebuild itself around those shows. Live PD is the only show that will put NewsNation on the map. Otherwise it will continue to be a utterly complete failure & joke of the broadcast news industry.

  2. I think some may be putting too much emphasis on the move to TS, the views, etc... Let's be honest, having views wasn't going to change anything for them. The move to TS made sense to fully utilize under-utilized space (the new Daily Show studio/office is there too). It would be a different story if the studio was at street level.

  3. This will vary state to state, but if refusing a vaccine mandate means being fired, as opposed to leaving on your own free will, a non-compete can be discarded. A few states have also made non-competes illegal anyway.

  4. They’ve changed the main desk backdrop to an image of Time Square. I guess this change is to better distinguish them from Good Morning America

  5. Here's some promos from The Disney Channel at the end of their pay-TV days. I *love* that Magical World of Disney montage they used in the waning days before the Zoog package. Stunning graphics and great jingle. Some years later, they went to junky "sitcoms" and shoving Raven-Symone up our butts. Ugh, what they have done to this magical network. OT: In my mailbox this afternoon should be a dozen Betamax tapes from Great Falls, Montana that I just purchased on Saturday via eBay (quick USPS shipping!) They are all L-250s, the 500s and 750s got away from me (and the 500s had vintage MTV on at least one tape). The 250s are smaller tapes at the 1 hour or 1 1/2 hour speed depending on Beta-II or Beta-III, so I might still find some good stuff. Tapes are vintage early '80s Sears and TDK Super Avilyn stock which literally sings to me. I am hoping it's local recordings from Montana, but with the nature of Californians migrating to ID/MT, it could be from that state too...

  6. There could be a future Gray repeater in the Mobile area. There's a new station (W31FB-D) currently licensed to Eastabuchie, MS (outside of Hattiesburg) but has a transmitter in Baldwin County east of Mobile and west of Pensacola. They're owned by Lowcountry 34 Media. A similar station exists in Laurel, MS, the COL for Gray station WDAM, and Gray picked up that station from Lowcountry. I guess any action depends on when the Meredith sale closes, but this station could possibly be tied to WALA in some form, even if its a low power UHF repeater. WDAM is also VHF, and may have the same issues that is causing Gray to move to UHF wherever and however possible.

  7. Such a shame. Remy was not just a legend in Boston, but baseball broadcasting in general. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Jerry.

  8. I find this very confusing for the fact that Arthur Chi’en has been at WNYW for years since being up the block at WPIX. Never knew he was freelancing. Glad that he is getting his just due working weekends and full time staff reporter. I mean he's been doing it for quite sometime.

  9. I remember Jovita Moore when she was working at WMC-TV in the mid 90s. She even chaperoned a field trip I was on at one time in elementary school. A brief article mentioning her passing was posted on WMC's website earlier today: https://www.actionnews5.com/2021/10/29/former-action-news-5-anchor-jovita-moore-dies-after-battle-with-brain-cancer/ My condolences to her entire family.

  11. WSB Television and Atlanta Television will never be the same without Jovita Moore. Prayers and condolences go out to her family and her extended family at Channel 2 Action News. And Jovita... Atlanta TV will never forget you. You will NEVER be forgotten. And say hello to Amanda Davis from all of us here. RIP Jovita and Godspeed.

  12. A big loss for Metro Atlanta. Jovita took the torch from the legendary Monica Pearson and carried it well. I am a saddened at her passing, yet she is in a better place. My condolences to her family and the Channel 2 family. SN: Justin Farmer was a trooper in announcing her death. You could tell at times it was getting to him.

  13. Such a shame, Jovita had so much life ahead of her. Why do articles keep saying she left WSB earlier this year? I thought she was on medical leave and had been praying for her eventual return. RIP.

  14. Sad news out from Boston.....Long time Boston Red Sox analyst for NESN, and former MLB player Jerry Remy has sadly passed away Saturday night from his long battle of cancer. As a Red Sox fan, this devastated me, and Sox games on TV will never be the same. RIP RemDawg. https://www.wcvb.com/article/jerry-remy-death-reaction-red-sox-player-broadcaster/38116465?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot#
