  1. And that's why CBS is doing this. Also in every other market, CBS can create a local news monopoly at this timeslot or create competition against independents/CW affiliates airing local news.

  2. I always wonder about the social distancing set ups that they do on the news. I know it's to set an example but do they actually do that off-camera? For example, do they not interact within less than 6 ft of each other in employee areas, and do people socially distance in the newsroom?

  5. A lot of CBS O&O's don't air Judge Judy. KYW never did. Now they have a 4p newscast. I do agree that Drew Barrymore could move to that slot though (or she could start airing at 3 and Dr. Phil could move to 4).

  6. Wait: Isn’t Maury Povich calling it quits with his show at the end of this season?? That alone might be the reason why the show will soon be off WJZ’s airwaves…..

  7. Ok a couple things with this. 1. Why is Denise anchoring this newscast? Doesn't she just do the 6pm? And 2. KDKA already does Pittsburgh Today Live at 9am (which is technically a lifestyle show), so I'm not sure why they'd start a 9am newscast when they already have a locally produced show that seems to be successful in that slot.

  8. Sad news out of The Nation's Capital. Former WJLA (ABC 7) News Anchor Renee Poussaint has passed away on Saturday at the age of 77. Poussaint was the co-anchor of Washington DC's ABC 7 News (News 7 at the time) at 6 & 11pm from 1978 till the early 90s. She began her career in broadcasting in 1970 working in Chicago, substituting for the late Peter Jennings on ABC World News Tonight. After 'JLA, Poussaint was a former network correspondent for ABC and CBS winning three national EMMY awards for her work on ABC's PrimeTime Live. Prayers and condolences go out to Renee's family and to her extended family at WJLA ABC 7. https://wjla.com/news/local/renee-poussaint-former-7news-wjla-anchor-dc-journalist-passes-away-77-on-your-side-abc-washington-wjla RIP Renee and Godspeed.
