  1. I hope his bosses have a sense of humor. Most corporate suits don't. But then again, Byron Allen owns the station, so he might not mind the comedy.

  2. Not sure where exactly to post this, but it definitely is relevant to GMA. Disney CEO Bob Iger was in conversation with John Stewart about the issues with modern news. Iger claims ABC News never sacrificed quality for ratings. To the contrary, GMA and ABC News are one of the worst offenders (if not the worst among the big three) of frequently using hyperbole and breaking news. An element I like that Stewart pointed out, is that modern news media all rushes to cover one event with extreme focus, then moves onto the next topic while other issues get pushed to the sidelines. Case and point, the Mueller Report. A key thing Stewart kept pressing Iger about is how would news organizations execute the change for better quality news they claim to want---to which the latter said would be impractical to do in today's climate. Interesting watch, and to Iger's credit he was the only major news executive willing to talk to Stewart.

  3. A great period at KNBC. They were just about to take the lead back from KABC. The set was designed by Gil Jimenez. A set design pioneer. And a great guy. I worked with him on a set in 2003.

  4. Personally, I wouldn't ever boast about beating taped programming on two nights the NFL buried anything with a (live and on-air and not involving home shopping) pulse, but for NN, I guess beating a taped show about the 'war on Christmas', on Christmas, in a very asterisk-heavy demographic manner, is an achievement in something, something enough to have your classic TV network being forced to acknowledge it on Facebook.

  7. Pat Collins is one of the best. He will truly be missed but at least he can finally relax.

  8. Missing the point. "Action News" and "Eyewitness News" are extremely dated brands, and are more or less cliché at this point. It's nearly 2023, it's time to find new ways of branding local news outside of two 60's era news formats. The formats themselves are barely even used anymore. I sure don't notice any difference between an "Action" or "Eyewitness" newscast and... every other newscast out there.

  9. Kudos to Keke for speaking up about her role, and also trying to dispel any rumors about her fate with ABC; this finally stops speculations surrounding whatever SSK/GMA3 would become for the time being.

  10. GMA has become so silly and tabloid, I like Robin George and Michael but the show could really use a bit more hard news and "intellectual" segments like it was under Lunden and Gibson

  11. Honestly, I feel that the logo would be more effective if each individual feather was outlined with a VEEEEERY THIN white border. Emphasizing the feathers, but still keeping them separate.

  12. Watching The Price Is Right, and it appears that new small CBS bug will also be used across daytime and primetime, as well.
