  1. I'm of the mind that as long as things are okay for him it's none of our business, and we should just let hosts take breaks when they need them. The age of social media where everyone is required to check in daily because otherwise Deadline and The Sun will harass their management as to why is so damaging to privacy.

  2. Or in his case, the church wine from The WORD network...

  3. This is the kind of thing most people wouldn’t have even cared about if there weren’t predatory outlets that drew attention to it. I don’t understand the tabloid fixation with this kind of stuff; if Strahan is dealing w/ something in private, leave him alone and give him a break.

  4. Kevin Adell has sent a cease and desist letter to WMYD to stop the CW affiliation. Official article (paywalled).

  5. “On October 29th, WADL temporarily stopped carrying The CW Network. Late last week, you agreed to carry The CW without compensation and with knowledge of the above-referenced agreement and business relationship with Mission.” Apparently Kevin’s forgotten how a CONTRACT works.

  6. Just checked his Facebook and a video from this photoshoot (without the darkened faces) and others pictures of Blair on the set and newsroom are on there, his cover picture is actually of ANF's logo.

  7. Didn't see the news about Blair. Definately looks like him, and I can also see why the person in the comments thought it was Buck. Being that it is established that Blair is coming to 46 I wonder why Gables didn't just outright say it. Probably just to make the post more interesting.

  8. Thought that was Blair Miller, who we established would be joining the station soon. Little weird though that Buck Lanford would join in on the confusion.

  9. Is Adell high on drugs or what?! First, he wants his station to carry the CW, then weeks later he decides not to carry the CW. What the hell is going on over at Adell Broadcasting and WADL 38?

  10. Considering he broke the contract (which going by what he claims didn't exist in the first place) clearly he doesn't really have a case here; he might be confusing himself with the terms of the has-been networks he carried before; this is a station that proudly carried Newsmax for a couple years in primetime for some reason and couldn't bother for years to upgrade to HD while they carried WDIV pre-emptions, so his business acumen is really dreadful.

  11. Pretty much the same, and we already had a preview of how they'd fit them in with the hurricanes, but here's the first look at CNN's updated election graphics since they rounded some of the edges. I still don't like the way some things don't line up when the full lower-third banner isn't there.

  12. The irony is Katz is literally launching his new venture with copycats of the very networks he helped launch: The365 is basically a rehash of Bounce (interestingly and kind of fittingly, the name harkens McDonald’s old 365Black campaign), and Outlaw is basically Grit. Also, Gray already carries the “original recipe” networks on several of its stations (including in some Scripps markets), so they’re basically swapping two identical networks for the ones Katz is copying.

  15. The Atlanta stations have scooped up plenty of former CNNers and Weather Channel meteorologists through the years. Linda Stouffer and Sophia Choi both anchored at the former CNN Headline News before going to WSB, Eboni Deon is a former Weather Channel met who’s also now at WSB, and Vinnie Politan once helmed WXIA’s morning show.

  16. Rick was from Fox News Channel. Shon was at WCBS, among others.

  17. That's a big deal for WANF, especially since Blair already has a sense of familiarity with Atlanta viewers. It seems that is WANF's strategy (even as CBS46), get big names from other markets instead of promoting their own to the anchor chair permanently (most recent example Rick and Shon, I know Rick was from CNN, what about Shon?)
