  1. Oh yeah, I forgot. They should rebrand it, though, and expand upon it.

  6. Sometimes, news music can get a bit tiring. Luckily, the WGN Morning News is trying to find some alternatives to their breaking news theme. https://youtu.be/_MZ1wMiKevU?si=ASLDQ52RV4WUmZ_Z

  8. You would have thought they would have rebounded after WJLA was tanked by Sinclair, but Tegna's gonna Tegna....

  10. I hope even if they call, he has the good sense to say no. There is nothing to gain and everything to lose by coming back. I hope Leon finds peace, sobriety, and health in his next chapter. As someone who spent 15 years in a newsroom, for every person who has a public/visible fall from grace due to alcohol or other substance abuse, there are just as many, if not more, who battle it silently or are in denial about it and manage to fly under the radar. There's no way to quantify the why - but the combination of odd hours, lack of balance, constant bad news content, and high-pressure work environment all likely play a role. Candidly, it's a big reason why I got out when I did. I saw the life outcomes of unmarried or divorced men over 40 who stay in TV news. The odds are not in your favor.

  11. I am sure WUSA9 is salivating at the chance to hire him. Kristen Pierce out at WISN after 3 years: https://www.jsonline.com/story/entertainment/television-radio/2025/04/08/wisn-tv-channel-12-co-anchor-kristin-pierce-leaves-milwaukee-station/82996318007/ This really shows the state of the business that a top-rated Hearst station can’t hold onto talent anymore. WISN has become a bit of a revolving door ever since the old guard started retiring.

  12. 40 years on Charlotte television. He joined when it was WPCQ and Odyssey Partners without local news being produced. Now it's WCNC and TEGNA with local news on. Its the anniversary of Larry Sprinkle at WCNC. This so happens to be his final week in the morning as he'll shift to do inspirational stories (since he's a forecaster, not an accredited meteorologist). Chris Mulcahy is taking over his spot. https://youtu.be/wpz5iZvpiBA?si=MYrB5lV_zTyoPr8X

  13. 57 years at one TV station? It is unheard of now these days in this business. Yet, longtime KARK camera operator Morsie Eagles did just that. Today, he finally retires at The Morsie Eagles Studio (named in 2018) at KARK. https://www.kark.com/news/kark-4-today/kark-4-news-longtime-camera-operator-morsie-eagles-retires/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJX1BhleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHS0eLyTCFzdcloLYtNqauQLYZANUA2F69eToVGruBf2P6KCN2ZX8MbUz7A_aem_9QydHpk2FLzzGMCPCj9e3Q

  14. Congratulations to Kym on this move! A major win for WBTV and Charlotte and another major loss for WPMI and Mobile. Back in 2008, Lenise Ligon left WBTV and later ended up as the primary anchor at WALA Fox 10 in Mobile, a job she's held since.

  15. Debated between putting this here or in the SportCenter, but at 90 years young, Lee Corso is calling it quits after almost 40 years at ESPN. Final telecast will be August 30, and ESPN says special programming will air in the days leading up to it. Saturday mornings during Football Season won't be the same. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/44713375/lee-corso-sign-college-gameday-analyst-august

  16. A reporter and photojournalist from WJZY got shot at while covering a story in Chester County, SC. Thankfully they're both ok. One person did get shot, and several men carried the victim to a vehicle and drove away. The condition and location of the victim is unknown at this time. https://www.qcnews.com/news/u-s/chester-county/queen-city-news-reporter-photojournalist-shot-at-inside-vehicle-as-gunfire-erupts-at-chester-county-fairgrounds/
