I think letting Kathy go is a HUGE mistake. Chris, although he seems nice, comes off as dry. Beasley seems like he's been phoning it in for years, just reading from the teleprompter.

Oh boy, Dianna Rocco is anchoring the 10. I hope they don't think that's the answer. Kate is doing weather.

Ugh I can't deal with the Roccobot again.

Wow, what a blow to Kathy Orr! I never watch CBS3 for news, and by that I literally mean, never, but Kathy Orr has been a fixture in Philly for a while. And wasn't it a huge deal that they lured her from channel 10?

She was part of their big rebirth with Marc Howard back in '03

So far filling the 4pm slot:

    Th 5/21: Sharrie Williams

    F 5/22: Sharrie Williams

    M 5/25: Sharrie Williams

    T 5/26: Nydia Han

    W 5/27: Nydia Han

    Th 5/28: Alicia Vitarelli

    F 5/29: Alicia Vitarelli

    M 6/1: Sarah Bloomquist

T 6/2: Nydia Han (missed this one but I believe it was her)

Looks like they are testing everyone out. I wonder if Eva Pilgrim and Tamala Edwards will get a chance.

Sarah did yesterday's show. Eva's on today.

I'm curious how often do they use the Chopper 6 360 on air? I still think of it as gimmicky but do think it would have provided a different perspective with the amtrak derailment. Although it's not as powerful as a standard camera I think it would provide an interesting view with all of the cameras stitched together on screen.

I haven't seen them use it at all since they made such a fuss about it.

I'm a Cowboys fan, so you can probably imagine my reaction to the NBC10/CSN deal. Waste of money. Do they deserve to be on TV?? Sure. Public access overnight.

Sir we can't be friends any more lol

  6. You have to figure one each of the Cowboys and Giants match ups will be Sunday nighters and there's talk that they want their game with the Patriots either to lead the season off or be one of the early match ups. That's three right there.

  7. Whoa that's big news (and I wonder how long it'll take for Swoop to be axed from all but WPVI's Autumn opens lol). I hope ETN and CSN split the production duties of the preseason games. It would be cool to have the SNF look to them. ETN hasn't had the best of graphical looks for games over the years.

God comcast is really upping their game with sports rights in Philadelphia at least. Sure most games regular season games won't air on the channel but you will basically get preferential treatment for everything.

I'm curious does this include games /programs on WWSI? Then again is the Spanish language audience big enough to translate a few games a year.

The Eagles could very well be on 3-4 (maybe 5 or 6 with flex scheduling) SNF games this year with how much attention they've drawn on themselves nationally and this market loooooves their football team so I'm sure 10 and CSN will have that covered.

As for WWSI, in theory they could (big could) a Spanish language TV simulcast for preseason games only. You can't do it for regular season as they're not a rights holder. The Eagles do have a Spanish radio network that is available through SAP.

They better bring a competent replacement. The investment that has been put in WCAU for the last 3-4 years will have been for nothing. Would he really need Anzio Williams there though? Because I would think that WNBC is not in as bad shape as WCAU was, entering 2011.

Didn't the same thing happen with KYW's GM back in the early 2000s? When KYW was doing well with Mendte and Lane, the GM went to WCBS in New York?

There's reports that say Anzio would follow.

But yeah Peter Dunn brought KYW out of the gutter and built it up into a contender then he went to WCBS and now he runs the station group.

  9. It's a kick in the balls for WCAU esp if he takes Anzio Williams with him but they'll turn WNBC around like they did here. I'm confident that they'll bring in a competent replacement cause if they don't they'll hear about it from Comcast.

  10. Maybe I misunderstood the story, but I don't think the problem was reporting something (that he's dead) before the family knew, but rather reporting that he was dead when he was actually alive but in critical condition.

Yeah. The TV Spy article said the PPD was not happy about her jumping the gun on announcing his death before all of the family had been notified. That's usually standard protocol in any shop that you wait before going to air with it no matter how many sources confirm it.

  11. TCN is becoming the ESPN2 of CSN. If you noticed they recently peacocked the logo and the network is using the same IDs and graphics as CSN all day. Looks like the Breakfast on Broad will be like First Take (I hope not as annoying) as a morning talk show.

Also Jillian said her good byes today on the 11AM news.

Has there been any official release regarding their morning news 4:00 AM? I've checked the schedules and they still list 4:00 AM as Early Today. I came acrosse this Instagram account for their morning news anchors which says they are on the air from 4:30 - 7:00 AM. Then there this Instagram post by Tracy Davidson mentioning a 4:00 AM start time. I'm guessing 4:00 AM is the defacto start time because they've been doing this for a few months now but for some reason they don't want to make it permanent so they decided to keep 4:30 AM in their profile. http://nstagram.com/p/yrGjp0xvwB/

They kinda just started going on at 4. No announcements or anything like that. 4AM is the official start time though. If you go to the page that hosts their livestream it'll give you their current broadcast schedule and I believe that it does say 4AM on it.
