Jim is anchoring the 11PM news with Keith. Has this happened before? If it has, does it happen on occasion? This is a first for me seeing both of them anchoring a newscast together.

IIRC, the only two male anchor team that anchored the 11pm news on WCAU in the 1980s were Larry Kane and Alan Frio. This was back when 'CAU was CBS.

That's a most definite as using Local 'Channel Number' as branding isn't so much of a thing anymore except for maybe a handful of TV stations these days. They'll most likely be re-branded as WATN 24 and WOI 5 on the non-news side of things. As for newscasts, a return to the generic "Channel 5 News" or "News 5" branding would probably be the most logical direction WOI to go at this point. WATN may require some "creativity" to say the least as a means of moving ratings in the right direction.

On a side note, WOITV.com re-directs to WeAreIowa.com, so that should give you an idea on what direction they might be going.

Or maybe bring back "Eyewitness News" for both WOI and WATN. ABC 5 (WOI-TV/DT) carried the Eyewitness News name from 2001-06 and (WATN) ABC 24 also carried it as well from 2000-10 back when they were WPTY.

  3. Let's not forget that in 1980, Silverman was responsible for pulling the plug on three daytime game shows; Hollywood Squares (Marshall), Chain Reaction (Cullen), and

High Rollers (Trebek) in favor for a 90-minute daytime show which only lasted four months.

I seen that video. It was so cringy. They need to go back to Channel 3 News. Immediately because this is getting ridiculous.

Tell it to "KYC management and Tegna, they're screwing everything up. They need to listen to the people. They want traditional newscast back.

First off, if you want to hear out of circulated firstcom music albums, (not listed on its own website) search thru this japanese music search site i've found while looking for missing tracks https://www.nslibrary.nichion.co.jp/albums?page=1&cat_search=FC-U (change the last alphabet at the end + it'll show you the whole catalogue) much of ESPN NFL Primetime tracks are there (under A) In this case, the KTTV '97 'Good Day LA' Theme is identified as 'Uptown Groove', thru its LA fusion album.  Another track identified is Daytimers (FC-A11: All American hero) used in the NY Lottery drawings in the 90s:

What about the WJKS 1996 Theme "Heroics"? Will able to find that?

In hindsight, it was pretty stupid of WATL to reject the idea of affiliating with CBS. Yeah, I know CBS was falling during that time, but its original choice of UPN wound up being a total bomb of a network, and the WB didn't fare that much better (outside of Kids WB and the teen stuff perhaps), all things considered.

One question. How come WTLK (Now WPXA) didn't get involved with the affiliation change in Atlanta?

  9. Well, hard to believe it's been 25 years since the big network affiliation switch that took place on September 3rd to December 1994.

    September 3, 1994...

Cleveland: WJW (CBS to FOX), WOIO (Fox to CBS)

    September 12, 1994...

Phoenix: KPHO (Ind to CBS), KSAZ (CBS to Ind)

Kansas City: WDAF (NBC to FOX), KSHB (Fox to NBC)

    December 11, 1994....

Detroit: WJBK (CBS to FOX), WKBD (FOX to Ind to UPN), and WGPR now WWJ (Ind to CBS).

Tampa: WTSP (ABC to CBS), WTVT (CBS to FOX) and WFTS (FOX to ABC).

Atlanta: WAGA (CBS to FOX), WATL (FOX to Ind to WB), and WGNX now WGCL (Ind to CBS).

    December 15, 1994...

Phoenix: KTVK (ABC to Ind), KSAZ (Ind to FOX), KNXV (Fox to ABC)

I could be wrong on the date in Phoenix's part of the affiliation change.
