Yep!  I always thought Ray was underrated when he was paired with Martha Weaver.  They then tried that "Todd and Tricia" thing...and since then, RTV hasn't really had a notable team...

The best anchor team at WRTV throughout the 70s, 80, 90s, and 2000s were Caldwell, Lee and Willis.

That has nothing to do with my statement. Thank you for sharing why George Stephanopoulos is a great Managing Editor though. Haha!

Peter Jennings would be so proud at David Muir.

    • There's going to be a new Chief Meteorologist at the Rio Grande Valley's NBC 23 (KVEO). The RGV's NBC Station has hired WHNS (FOX 21) Meteorologist Issac Williams to be their new lead weathercaster for the Early Evening and Late newscasts. No word on what KVEO will do about Robert Bettes who is currently the stations Chief Meteorologist.
    • And Pittsburgh's CBS 2 (KDKA) is adding more news to its lineup. KDKA will add a 7:30pm half-hour newscast to its current 7pm news that will now run from 7-8pm. The station will have Megan Schiller the 7pm half-hour newscast that will replace the nationally syndicated show EXTRA with Billy Bush. KDKA's expanded news is set to launch August 17th.
  4. Anchor changes are taking place at Austin's KVUE ABC 24.

Evening Anchor Mike Rush will be move to Daybreak (5-7am) with Yvonne Nava. Morning anchor Bryan Mays will now be the stations main anchor at 5, 6 and 10pm with Terri Gruca (5pm) and Quita Culpepper (6 & 10pm). Meteorologist Jason Mikell will now do the weather on weekends, he'll be anchoring the early morning edition of Daybreak at 4:30am, and do traffic reports from 5-7am.

The changes will take place starting tomorrow.

  5. I know that Bob Johnson is up there in heaven reunited with MaryEllen Locher and anchoring the news together from the good lord above. Thoughts and prayers to The Johnson Family. RIP Bob and MaryEllen, and Godspeed.

Interesting. I wonder what the hosting format will look like, will they keep it the same with Amy as primary anchor or make it a duo or panel show?

Or maybe bring back a legendary soap opera and revive it. One answer, IMO... AMC (All My Children).

  7. Two big 25th anniversaries taken place here in The Lone Star State. 25 years ago today (7/1/95) in Austin, KTBC and KBVO switched network affiliations. KTBC said so long to CBS and said hello to FOX, while KBVO said goodbye to FOX and jump to CBS. And KBVO changed the call letters to K-EYE the next day.

(7/2/95) 25 years ago tomorrow, three TV stations in Dallas/Fort Worth made the switch to new networks. KDFW - CBS to FOX, KTVT - Ind to CBS, and KDAF - FOX to Ind, and later WB.

What a difference 25 years makes for both cities in Texas.

  8. Thoughts and prayers need to go out to Winston-Salem's WXII 12 News anchor Kimberly Van Scoy. The former evening anchor now morning anchor has been diagnosed with congestive heart disease.

The diagnosis came as a surprise to herself. Van Scoy assured viewers though, during her announcement on Facebook, that she's been taken care of by the best doctors. For now, Van Scoy will be off the air getting treatment and some much need rest.

  9. Prayers are going out to former New York and current Harrisburg, PA anchor Robb Hanrahan of CBS 21 (WHP) who had suffered a massive heart attack yesterday. He's recovering in the ICU after a second surgery. Thoughts are with The Hanrahan Family and Robb's colleagues at CBS 21, and prayers for a full recovery to Robb and to his family at this difficult time.
