I've asked KDBC CBS 4's Shelton Dodson exclusively to TVNT via Facebook and asked if there going to adding newscasts on KDBC in the near future, and Tonight I have his response.
"We are starting October 16th with a 5:30 and 10pm newscast, plus a full slate of a weekend newscast too. More weekday newscasts will be added in the very near future. Also, you can forget everything you remember about the old KDBC. CBS 4 News is going to look COMPLETELY different. Keep in touch and give us some feedback. We love to hear what people like and what they think could use some improvement."

Thank goodness.

I hope after this news, WUSA's new ND will move to improve the product.
I really hope that they hire a good news director, and bring back "9 eyewitness news".

I thought Landess was retiring? Though I suppose moving back to your childhood town is part of that...
Landess coming to CBS 19 KYTX, in the words of Hawk Harrelson "You Gotta be Bleeping Me!" It's a big win for KYTX.

It is with a heavy heart that we all at TVNT should say a prayer and hearts for WCIA's Dave Benton and for his family. Dave told the viewers yesterday that the brain cancer has returned, with a grim diagnosis.

Again, please go to the WCIA facebook page and offer your prayers to Dave and his family.

Two WFAA Spirit of Texas promos from 1984.
-
Booo! Hissss! I miss The Spirit of Texas. This is Home is NOT for Texas. Only the Spirit belongs.
As a native Texan born and raised in Dallas for almost 30 years, I second that!

Ed Bark has his take on WFAA's new graphics on his blog today.

Well don't leave out the now former London stations now owned by Gannett (KBMT, KIII, KYTX, KCEN, KXVA, and KIDY). Because there be getting new graphics as well.
-
One quick note, KHOU is last station with the Propulsion theme.
-
Say goodbye to Propulsion V2 on WFAA tomorrow.
-
Well, ICYDK Dr. Oz is moving to KDFW this fall and I don't have WFAA's daytime/afternoon schedule.
-
WFAA does have a weekday midday newscast, but they don't have a weekend midday news.
-
Here in D/FW, Wheel and J! was a powerhouse on WFAA till KTVT acquired Wheel and Jeopardy! in 2005, and WFAA had to settle with Entertainment Tonight at 6:30PM.

Any word on KHOU and WFAA on when are getting new graphics, etc?
-
Since Gannett planted their flag here in Texas and bought Belo Corp & London Broadcasting, what are the chances Gannett will purchase TV stations in Midland/Odessa, Amarillo, El Paso, and/or Lubbock?

So KUSI has quietly added a 5pm newscast to its schedule. Don't know when it started or if it's permanent. I'll check it out tonight to see who anchors the newscast.
I checked the programming schedule on the station's website, and it looks like it is permanent.

Worse Case Scenario: What would have happen if WFAA change their logo with WISH-TV's logo.
-
I don't see why they would... They already have the network worked into their primary logo. If anything, I think they'd drop the WFAA and call it News 8 or Channel 8 News.
Just hope and pray it's not KGW's new logo.

the new KHOU.com just went live.

...and I'm still holding out hope for a revival of TXCN. They'd be amiss to not invest in that cable channel with 83% coverage in the state.
I'm hoping for the revival of Texas Cable News as well, with better news coverage, new anchors, new meteorologists, sports anchors, etc.

I wish that WCNC was called 6NEWS again.
