  2. I think the new WTRF7 is a flashback or homage to their 1956-1962 logo… Just my opinion
  3. https://www.facebook.com/wtrf7news/videos/694392215161318/

  7. On a large number of Nexstar’s updated websites when you go to the “About Us” tab and click on “Meet the Team”, you can go to the page, but it does not allow you to click on the individual owners and reporters and read their bios.
  8. Also WTRF, WOWK and WBOY but WVNS has not changed yet.
  9. WOWK 13 New set alert. Nexstar’s WOWK 13 Huntington/Charleston WV has received the standard Nexstar CBS affiliate set and graphics makeover. It debuted with the 11 PM newscast. There were some technical glitches and a mix of old and new music. But otherwise a huge, huge, huge improvement over what they had under West Virginia Media Holdings http://www.wowktv.com/weather/crazy-weather-snow-to-70s-and-our-new-look-stormtracker-13-sunday-night-forecast_20180402033009/1092519187
  10. The newscast on MeTV is MOVING to WCWG. There will no longer be a newscast of any sort on MeTV.
  11. WTRF even sponsors its HD.... right after the already sponsored News open that ends with "7News starts now" is followed immediately by "HD brought to you by Bordas & Bordas" (it's a local law firm.
  12. The former West Virginia Media Holdings stations that are now owned by Nexstar have intro-ed all of their newscast even long before being owned by Nexstar as: "Live from the Frontier Communications Studio.... 7News (or 12News, 13News, 59News) begins "NOW"!!!!!!
  13. Apparently, it's now official..... http://www.tvnewscheck.com/mobile/index/article/id/103905
  14. Speaking of Scripps acquisitions: http://www.tvnewscheck.com/mobile/index/article/id/103560

  16. It's been more than a year. Wonder why it's taking sooo long
  17. Does anyone know if Nexstar has closed on its purchase of the West Virginia Media Holdingd stations yet?
  18. As bad as Nexstar is, WTRF can only go , they are operating on a shoestring staff, and the overall quality of the broadcasting and news operations is BADDDDD.....
  19. Has Nexstar taken OWNERSHIP of the West Virginia Media Holdings stations yet?
  20. http://www.toledoblade.com/TV-Radio/2016/11/29/WNWO-Channel-24-to-oursource-local-news-layoff-employees.html
  21. Living in West Virginia I can tell you the WVMH stations are in various stages of need. Of the 4, WOWK 13 in Charleston/Huntington is the most professional looking. WTRF 7 is at the other end of the spectrum. It is HORRENDOUS. Imagine a college TV station with students and neophytes staffing the news department. No creative services/promotions to speak of and a general look and feel that is backwoods reckneck at best. I grew up watching the station and in its glory days it was a force to be reckoned with. But ever since it's affiliation switch to CBS in 1980, and several ownership changes: Tri-Cities Broadcasting, Forward Communications, Wesray, Adams Communications, Brissette Communications, Benedek Broadcasting and finally West Virginia Media Holdings. Each of which lowered quality and lowered the bar overall. It is a sad, sad shell of its former self.
  22. That is pretty much what WPXI does with PCNC: Pittsburgh Cable News Channel, but it isn't a .2 channel. It's only on cable
  23. WKYC was Action 3 News decades before WOIO even went on the air, so 19 Eyewitness News isn't out of the realm of possibilities.....
