  1. Contessa Brewer did all the Saturday newscasts solo and is back at 6am with Michael Gargiulo. They must be really short handed if Michael had to work today. Is there no other WNBC reporter who can fill in as anchor? If I'm correct Shiba, Chuck and Sue were off most of the week and Pat is off this weekend. I'm guessing Pat filled in for Darlene who was at the Today Show news desk Saturday.
  2. To follow up on my last post here are some dark studio shots. The chair on the far right is the most dark camera shot on the AM newscast. WCBS needs to fix this. They are now darker then WABC's studio.
  3. Heather is one of the rotating news anchors of FOX & Friends First airing 5am on FOX News Channel. The show started March 5th. She is back on Good Day Wednesday. Julie Chang was anchoring today as Tai Hernandez was subbing for Rosanna.
  4. With Erika Tarantal on maternity leave, former MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer is filling on the weekends. Today she co-anchored with Pat in the AM and solo for the 6pm and 11pm newscasts.
  5. Someone please tell WABC to refocus the camera at the Weather Center. How do they not notice how out of focus it is? It's been like this since Saturday morning. Either that or they are going ridiculously overboard with the soft filtering. The news desk cameras have to much soft filtering making the video, especially the wide shots, almost look like SD 16:9,
  6. Can't they adjust the cameras to make the video level a bit brighter from the interview area. With the WABC Green screen if they do stand closer to it the wall the lighting is better but if they move away the lighting gets much darker. With WCBS I find the overall lighting for the AM news is darker then the other newscasts. Specially where the weather and sports people sit on the ends of the desk.
  7. To me WCBS is much darker at the news desk then WABC. I agree the lighting for the interview area and green screen on WABC is to dark. Someone mentioned to me that part of the problem is a limitation of the studio power source.
  8. Matt Kozar from News12 is now reporting for WABC. Did a report from Manhattan on the 5pm newscast.
  9. The 6pm weekend newscasts are back in the studio.
  10. The news desk lighting on WCBS is now darker then WABC.
  11. The weekend 6pm newscasts are back in the newsroom.
  12. Bill Ritter is on tonight at 11pm with Sandra. Is this just a sweeps month thing or is he subbing for Phil.
  13. I guess WWOR is no longer using the "I-Team" name as WNBC is now using it for their Investative Reporters in new promos.
  14. Does WABC have any plans to do live remotes in HD?
  15. Lisa Kerney makes her debut as weekday morning sports reporter. She most recently served as MLB Network anchor and reporter. http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowlny/wcbschannel-2-gears-up-for-giants-super-bowl-fever_b52009
  16. They had gone back to the boxed FOX5 logo during local programming. As of Monday the horizontal FOX5 logo is back without the time and temp.
  17. WABC's Brooklyn Bridge camera has been upgraded to HD.
  18. Gus Rosendale has started reporting for WNBC.
  19. A few days ago I WPIX aired a report where some of the video b-roll was totally out of focus. Then tonight during one of the reports, half of the camera shots are out of focus, the video level is way to high and the video is very grainy. Is WPIX now having some of their reporters shoot their own video on less than broadcast quality HD cameras? Here's a good example from tonight,
  20. During network programming tonight they are using the boxed logo and during local programming the FOX5 logo.
  21. Another copy has been posted from the broadcast, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71vWBJNknzE
  22. In the promo with Sukanya Krishnan she calls her self the "main achor" of the PIX 11 Morning News. What does that make Frances Rivera? I thought they were co-anchors. Did WPIX hire Dyrol Joyner full time as sports reporter? He's been on every weekend during the NFL Season.
