I guess Chuck is no longer doing the 7pm newscast and is just doing 6pm and 11pm. Chuck anchored at 6pm and Tom Llamas anchored at 7pm.

Erika Tarantal has returned to Weekend Today In New York. Contessa Brewer had been the regular sub for Erika and I wonder if she will still be used as a sub?

WCBS needs to adjust the white balance on the two shot of the anchors at the desk. For the 6pm newscast It has way to much of a yellowish tint and does not match the other cameras.

WNBC is running promos for the Steve Harvey talk show starting September at 3pm. Anyone know if the "We're 4 New York" promo campaign is coming back for the Olympics?

It's the same for 5pm. The top left corner of the back drop is animated as the lighter blue streaks are moving to the upper left. I agree it needs a change.

The background they are using at 4pm has to much blue overlaid on the skyline photo. Here is the background from 9.26.11 and today.

I agree it's odd that Phil has to do all shifts this weekend while Michelle only does PM. Two other people who have fill in as anchors are Lauren Glassberg and Lisa Colagrossi.

I believe Tim Fleischer has anchored on weekends.

Jodi mentioned that WPIX won the award for best 10pm newscast from the New York State Broadcasters Association.

Maybe they are doing rehearsals for the new AM news show on WLNY and are working out the technical details since I'm guessing the newscasts will be done from WCBS till the WLNY studio is ready?

In what might be a first time pairing, Chuck Scarborough and Contessa Brewer are anchoring at 5pm.

They did a segment at the end of the show announcing Janice Huff is leaving Weekend Today after 16 years doing weather on Sundays. She remains weekdays at WNBC.

She's in again at 5pm for Kristine.

Does anyone know if WPIX uses a 7 second delay on the 8am hour of the newscast? I've been noticing on FiOS just before the show ends the video jumps forward as if they are going out of delay and we miss a few seconds on the show.

Alex Denis is subbing for Kristine all week at 5pm. Interesting that they did not use Cindy or one of the reporters.

The video captures are 720p up converted to 1080i by the cable box. Yes the video on WABC's news cast is that soft. WABC needs to turn down the soft filtering and give more bandwidth back to 7.1. Getting rid of 7.3 would be a good start. It was mentioned on Friday's Live With Kelly, which was a rerun with a new open and closing segment, that work was going to start on remodeling the studio and expanding into the old WABC news studio. The plan is for the studio to be ready for April 9th. They have been airing reruns March 19th through the 30th and the show is in Canada this week.
