  1. New M&A. Looks like White Knight could be the next target........ Nexstar is exercising its option to acquire KSHV Shereveport, LA & KTPN-LD in Tyler, TX. Because the 2017 dereg rules were reinstated last month, Nexstar (which owns NBC outlet KTAL) can acquire KSHV without getting a failed waiver, because that station is not in the top-4. And of course, the eight voice test is eliminated. Could WVLA & KFXK be going to Mission soon?....... EDIT 7/21: More stations going into Nexstar proper.... Nexstar has exercised its option to get Mission Broadcasting LPs KCPN-LD Amarillo & KJBO-LD Wichita Falls.

  12. Why would Nexstar want a print publication?
  13. Fox names the group of meteorologists that'll be in part of this new venture. Jason Frazer (WKYC) Craig Herrera (KING) Nick Kosir (WJZY) Brigit Mahoney (KTVI) Britta Merwin (KPRC) Stephen Morgan (KRIV)
  14. So follow up. WTTW has withdrawn the application. It stated on the notice that "The applicant needs to withdraw the application and revisit its business plans." Whatever that means....... __________ Small M&A. Weigel is getting two more permits from HC2 for $50K. W34ER-D Clarksdale, MS KEOF-LD Fort Dodge, IA
  15. Both WMAQ & KNBC debuted Novocom as the Sydney Games began (around mid-September).
  16. So Rural Alaska will get a reprieve past the July 13 cutoff date. The FCC has granted the State of Alaska a waiver to keep the analog signals of its 15 translator stations operating until January 10, 2022. Many of its translators are in extreme rural parts of the state where that one translator is their only OTA source.
  17. Don't tell me they uploaded a mock?!!! LOL.
  18. Follow up. The WNAC deal has finally been consummated as of last Wednesday (6/16). The Mission website has included WNAC in their station listing with an interesting element. Is the station changing its logo?
  19. I forgot to mention Gray's Telemundo Texas stations KEYU/KTLE had the old template but switched as well.
  20. The Founder's Day of Caring was sidelined last year due to the pandemic. They're doing it big this year.

  22. One NPRM. Three R&Os. NPRM: KCWX (5 > 8.) - including amended DTS arrangement. R&O: WRGB (6 > 35) WAOE (COL, Peoria > Oswego) Channel 9 Freeport Looks like Gray would have to apply and bid for the new allotment. On the bottom of the order it stated this:

  24. ........And two weeks later, it has advanced to NPRM. And we have an R&O. FCC has approved WCYB's change from VHF-low 5 to UHF 35.
  25. Looks like we have Kweilyn Murphy's replacement in NOLA. KSBW morning meteorologist Art Jarrett will become the new meteorologist on WDSU's morning show.
