  1. Actually, most stations in the Pacific time zone air the network shows at 5:30. LA and maybe a handful of stations (i.e. KGTV & KIRO) air it at 6:30.
  2. So following KPIX's footsteps....... KNTV is adding two new newscasts at 5:30pm & 7pm beginning June 7. Nightly is being moved to 6:30pm. Back in January 2019, KPIX followed this similar practice by moving the Evening News from 5:30 to 6:30 while extending the 5 a full hour, and added the 7.
  3. The FCC won't be involved in this transaction because it doesn't include broadcast licenses (OTA TV stations). But there are many calls (including a union) for the DOJ to heavily scrutinize this deal.
  4. Another WTVD departure. And now Sports anchor Mark Armstrong is leaving on Monday after 17 years at the station.
  5. .......And nine days later, it has advanced to NPRM. Lightning fast. And one R&O today. KHQA (7 > 22)
  6. Three more R&Os today. These channel switches have been greenlighted. KAIT (8 > 27) KVII (7 > 20) KMYU (9 > 21) The latter two's sister station in Vegas (KHSV) is awaiting on getting advanced to NPRM.
  7. A small M&A. One Alaska station is taking one of KTVA's former repeaters. Ketchikan Media, LLC (owners of Anchorage's KDMD) is acquiring KTNL Sitka for $37,500.
  8. You know who's getting the real last laugh in all of this? Former Antitrust Division leader Makan Delrahim. He was one that sued AT&T & Time Warner to get the deal blocked in 2016 because he thought the deal was too massive. He lost the case and lost the appeal. With all of that mountainous amount of debt they've accumulated after getting DirecTV & Time Warner, now they have to spin-off DirecTV and now WarnerMedia. And AT&T would probably still be in a heavy load of debt after the spin-offs are completed. AT&T bought TW for $85B. They're pocketing just over half of that amount.
  9. If a full power station wants an allotment that LP is in, they can basically get it. Because low power & translator stations don't get protection for their allotments (Class A Low Powers do, however). For instance, WYES has petitioned to move to RF 28. That means that LP that's now occupied in that allotment (Daystar's KNLD-LD) has to be displaced & have to find a new channel of their own. .......And almost two weeks later, it has already advanced to NPRM. Three new R&Os. KCRG (9 > 32) WLUK (12 > 18) WFXL (12 > 27)
  10. Even though a good chunk of the country air it at 8am/ET, GMA Weekend is produced live at 7am/ET. The second hour Saturday show is produced live at 8am/ET. So when you see GMA's 2nd hour on Saturdays, it is definitely tape delayed. But its not a repeat of the first hour.
  11. New PRM today. KTNV wants to vacate VHF 13 for UHF 26. The KGBT deal was greenlighted today (5/12).
  12. So much for a proxy fight. The shareholders of Tegna have re-elected all twelve of its existing board members.
  13. Follow up regarding Hohmann's replacement. Morning Meteorologist Dan Schwenneker will take over Chris's evening slots as the new chief beginning 5/31. WDSU's morning meteorologist Kweilyn Murphy will take Dan's morning slot on Channel 11.
  14. Two new R&Os, effectively approving these channel switches. KFVS (11 > 32) WRDW (12 > 27) So earlier, I would say the station would have 30 days to file the application (with the new allotment) to get the construction permit. What I want to clarify is that the station has to file the new app within 30 days after the order gets posted in the Federal Register. It usually take about a month to get posted there. So for example, KRIS received its R&O on 4/5, and the order was posted in the Register on 4/23. So they'll have until 5/23 to file the app.
  15. New Petition today. And this is from a flagship outlet, soon to be acquired by Gray. Quincy's WGEM wants to vacate VHF 10 for UHF 19.
  16. Here you go. KNXT/KNXT-LP
  17. Wow! Big news out of the Triangle. WTVD has announced two departures. Evening anchor Tisha Powell and Chief Meteorologist Chris Hohmann are both leaving the station within the next couple of months. Hohmann will leave on May 28 after nearly 30 years at the station. While Powell will depart on June 30 after 17 years.
  18. Wouldn't be surprised if it fills those Court TV slots in the large markets......
  19. KTVM (6 > 20) has advanced to NPRM. And we have three R&Os, effectively approving those channel switches. KCBD (11 > 36) KHGI (13 > 18) WTOC (11 > 23)
  20. Nexstar is launching a new diginet to complement with Antenna TV. Rewind TV debuts on September 1.
  21. Are you talking about Steve Schill? Vid courtesy of Sloan's TV Archive YT page.
  22. Three more PRMs have advanced to NPRMs today (4/21). WYES (11 > 28) KRCR (7 > 15) KECI (13 > 20) Let's see if KTVM advance, as it seeks the same allotment as KECI.
  23. Gray is LP-picking again. They're buying an unbuilt permit K31MK-D in Lawton, OK from New Media Partners LLC fo $40K. Gray has also filed an app to light this LP up at a full 15kW.
  24. .....And two more have advanced today (4/16). KTVL (10 > 16) KBOI (9 > 20) Sinclair is waiting on four remaining petitions to advance (KRCR, KECI, KTVM & KHSV). Also, the Channel 26 Eagle River allotment has now advanced to NPRM. Gray wants to keep WYOW in the Quincy deal. But its new license petition (on the same stick) is moving forward......
