  1. Because the Network is showing the Grammys. And some stations would use its weekday team to anchor after the awards.
  2. Well the KCWX PRM is back on again. I think the reason they withdrew was that they the forgot to attach the actual "petition for rulemaking" PDF. They only posted the engineering part. So on page 1-2 of the petition PDF, it stated this: So if a UHF allotment is not available now, why expect it be available later.......
  3. New M&A. Looks like Gray is LP-picking again. They're acquiring some un-built permits of ten LPs owned by HC2 Holdings for $475K. K24NY-D Paragould, AR W23EF-D Tallahassee, FL W20DW-D Clarksdale, MS WDDY-LD Jackson, TN WHJK-LD Jackson, TN KMZB-LD Amarillo, TX K31PR-D Tyler, TX W33DH-D Eau Claire, WI W14ER-D Eau Claire, WI W31EV-D Wausau, WI
  4. They've now withdrawn its petition. Why even file in the first place?
  5. New PRM. But this station is staying on VHF. Fredericksburg, TX's KCWX wants to vacate RF 5 for RF 8. For one thing, getting off the VHF-low is an improvement. But I doubt anyone from Austin or San Antonio would pick up the Channel 8 signal without getting a good antenna.
  6. And we have another New Station. WITN has joined the Carolina Coastline sisters (sans WMBF) with the WMC pack. Videos courtesy of "DADOSUPERMARIO 2" from YT.
  7. The FCC greenlighted the Newport deals without any conditions. Nexstar surely didn't keep KARK & KLRT separate in Central Arkansas.......
  8. Then why is KMGH/KCDO master control is in Indy then?
  9. We have a Report & Order (R&O). The FCC has greenlighted KOMU's channel change from VHF 8 to UHF 27. They'll have one month to file a minor change application for a construction permit on their new allotment. Tegna's KARE (31) & KPNX (18) just recently gotten permits for their UHF allotments last week. And lastly, four PRMs have advanced into NPRMs yesterday (3/4). WFXL (12 > 29) WLUK (12 > 18) KHQA (7 > 22) WLMB (5 > 35) ______________________ Unrelated to channel changes, The FCC has greenlighted the WWCP transaction to Cunningham Broadcasting yesterday (3/4).
  10. Another departure. Longtime reporter Eileen Frere is leaving the station after nearly twenty years. She was the OC Bureau Chief for most of her time there.
  11. Ain't nothing custom about it. They're using Guardian.
  12. And it looks like the Lighthouse are going pack it in with eight streams (Ion & the 7 subs) on the Ion spectrum (once those contracts from the other distributors run out). As what Lisa Knutson said: I'm surprised they didn't eliminate HSN/QVC while they canned Qubo & Ion Plus over the weekend.
  13. Follow-up. The transfer was consummated yesterday (2/22).
  14. There's an amendment in one of the Sinclair channel change PRMs. WCYB wanted to move from VHF-low 5 to UHF 30. They now proposed to move to RF 35 instead.
  15. Three PRMs have now jumped to NPRMs. Two of the petitions were just filed within the last two weeks. Damn that was fast. KCBD (11 > 36) KRIS (13 > 26) KSNB (4 > 24; Superior, NE > York, NE)
  16. They have the "overused" WMC package.
  17. This probably explains why we didn't see Janet so often the last few years. Feder dropped this this morning:
  18. A Nexstar GM is moving to the Big Apple. KRON's VP/GM Chris McConnell has been appointed as the new VP/GM of New York's WPIX.
  19. Short answer on both is yes. With the loophole, UHF signals counts at 50% of the households (in contrast to 100% of HH for VHF). So that certainly help the owner's cap space. Not sure if this new Democratic-run FCC is going to attempt to get rid of it again. Wheeler got rid of it. And then Pai brought it back.
  20. A little Friday Dump. Nine more PRMs have advanced to NPRMs. WTOC (11 > 23) WRDW (12 > 27) KCRG (9 > 32) KFVS (11 > 32) KAIT (8 > 27) KVII (7 > 20) KHGI (13 > 18) KMYU (9 > 21) WAOE (COL change to Oswego, IL)
  21. New PRM. This time, its a Scripps station. They want to move KRIS off VHF 13 for UHF 26. I guess this is an oppurtune time to ask, as they're in the process of installing a new tower, after the old one collapsed last year.
  22. I don't think that's their plan. Why would you want to move to KLCW spectrum when they can be on its own UHF frequency? Along with moving UHF is to move from its current site to KJTV/KLCW's tower.
  23. New PRM today. KCBD wants to vacate VHF 11 for UHF 36.
  24. Big Follow up. Months after suffering a heart attack, Robb Hanrahan has announced his retirement from WHP.
