Eight CBS Stations to Ditch CW and Go Independent This Fall

That's a better logo than that KMAX box..... -
It's unusual but not all that rare. As WDJT & WVUE have aired J!/Wheel on the 6pm/CT hour for years.......

I'll Believe it when I see it. It's a shame that were's just about nine days away before CBS pulling the CW from its stations and Nexstar has yet to announce which stations will get it in the four remaining markets. Including (no one mentioned it yet) Seattle. -
Press release says it'll be a half an hour. They didn't say which show will be on at 7:30.

New petition. Back to the Big Sky we go...... Sinclair now wants to vacate Montana's KECI off of RF 20 for RF 21. To recap, KECI and KTVM wanted to get off of its VHF signals (13 and 6, respectively) to move to UHF channel 20. Remembering asking this question at the time: I guess they've answered my question in this engineering statement. The overlapping of the signals should've been realized from the jump. Areas near the Sapphire Range and Deerlodge National Forest would've been affected. ______________________________________________ EDIT: Three NCE NPRMs: Ch. 2 - Colusa, CA (One Ministries, Inc.) Ch. 3 - Tulare, CA (One Ministries, Inc.) Ch. 4 - Alamogordo, NM (Vision Broadcasting Networks) EDIT 8/23: Two NPRMs: KIFI (8 > 18) KWNV (7 > 16) EDIT 8/29: One NPRM: KDIN (11 > 34)

Well isn't 7pm (6pm C/M) is called "Primetime Access"? I don't see that much difference. -

This deserves some backtracking...... From this thread in 2014: And there's some more discussion regarding Hello/Great News in this archived thread from that time. -

And.....seattle11.com, boston38.com, florida33.com and sacramento31.com. I strongly doubt every station will go with these brandings. "KCAL" (& even "KCAL 9" ftm) is a stronger brand than a generic "Los Angeles 9" or "LA 9". Sad that "california9.com" was already taken..... -
They have the same schedule now. And WABC has been airing the Tamron Hall 2pm move promos since last week. But if Channel 7 haven't announced their 10am plans post-fall (whether its a newscast or some other program) via a promo or a press release, you can't assume that they'll have the same schedule as PVI or WTVD after September. That is clear speculation.
-
Have WABC or WTVD even announced they're doing a 10am newscast yet?!

Here's a promo for reference. -
FCC approvals does not mean the deal has been finalized or consummated. You should not be seeing any Nexstar insignias/signoffs yet.
-
The FCC has greenlighted the deal today (8/3).

Within the last decade or so, the 11pm opens have always been short, so they can go straight to the "Big Story".

Mark Jackson announced that he was cut loose from the Worldwide Leader....

New Petition. Weigel wants to move that new signal closer to the big city. They're keeping the UHF 31 allotment in Wisconsin. But want to move the Community of License east from Wittenberg to Shawano. That's about 38 miles away NW of Green Bay.
-
Nexstar has completed the WSNN sale, as of Thursday (7/20).

There will be callsign changes in Pittsburgh & in San Francisco come September 1st. WPCW > WPKD-TV KBCW > KPYX -
It's 12:43am/ET. And I can't believe that Fox 5 is doing a live late newscast after the All-Star game. They usually "pre-tape" a one half-hour show after the game when it goes past 11pm. Are they doing this for sweeps?......

Station just pulled out a release. Traffic anchor Sarah Jindra and Daytime Chicago fill-in host Ji Suk Yi will host this new hourly show.

A couple of things. WFVX-LD has completed its transition last week (6/30), leaving RF 22 and now channel-sharing with WVII on RF 7. This clears the way for PBS outlet WMEB to move to from VHF 9 to UHF 22. Also, three R&Os & one NPRM. R&Os: KCBY (11 > 34) KCFW (9 > 17) KENV (10 > 20) - (7/19) NPRM: WKNX (7 > 21) - (7/20)
-
KFSN airs WNT at their normal time @ 5:30 (like KGO).
-
Just saw this license to cover, but apparently (since the end of last month) KTUL has lit up RF 14. The station has reminded viewers to rescan today (6/27). That means that grace period for keeping VHF 10 on will end today. Staying with Sinclair, Nebraska's KHGI is a step closer to lighting up its UHF 18 signal. They recently installed its new antenna.

Y'all don't have to worry about a switch in Atlanta. WANF will stay as a CBS affiliate. Gray has renewed its CBS deal in all of its 54 markets.
