For a station in the largest TV market in the country to do this practice, is completely uncalled for. If Channel 7 can do a live broadcast at 12:45am in the morning (like they did on Easter Sunday), then why can't they stay until the game is over to do a live broadcasts? They've done it live many times before. What changed? The crew can't stay past 11:30pm anymore? News could be breaking at anytime (even in these hours). And to air a pre-recorded broadcast tonight is complelely unacceptable. What a shame.

Nexstar plans to do a companywide community service for all of their markets to commemorate its 20th anniversary on Friday.

The announcement of this deal lit up this board like wildfire. It was just a shock to all (including me) because Belo was one of the well-respected groups out there. This came on the height of the M&A craze that year after Sinclair's announcements of new acquisitions of the lower market Cox stations, Barrington & Fisher; Nexstar's announcement of ComCorp; and Media General's announcement of a merger with Young.

Okay Follow-up. I'm not too sure when they changed it but their twitter feed is now updated. The logos matches the ones from the website. To me, the one that was posted before (specifically the Fox one, which was a carbon-copy of KDVR) looked extremely cheap. But I'm tired of seeing yet ANOTHER Nexstar Fox station with the same vertical-stacking logo. And it really doesn't look right with a singular-number station. I just hope they don't splew this shit into the MG stations.

Four stations with an 11am broadcasts? That's just too crowded.

Follow-up regarding Hill. She won't be at NBC for long. TVNewser stated this morning that's she's returning to HLN. She'll also contribute on the CNN shows.

Ironcially, the last daytime game show that aired on ABC was Match Game '90, hosted Canadian comedian Ross Shaffer. And that show wasn't cleared in all markets since many of them started airing the news at 12pm.

When I looked at that page a couple of weeks ago, it was still showing those two dated logos. Okay their two different sets of logos. The one that's posted on the yourbigsky twitter page is different from the logos that are displayed on its website front page (where it says POWERED BY). The question is which one they use on the air?

New M&A. This time Nexstar is selling. Nexstar is selling one its satellites of Grand Junction's CBS station KREX. Its Glenwood Springs satellite, KREG is being sold to Marquee Broadcasting for $350K.

And that's the same font used like its sister stations in the state.

Sometime ago in Cleveland, the game show aired at the same time his talk show was on. Now Feud airs a half-hour earlier at 2:30pm.

Sinclair's NTV/KFXL deal from the Pappas trust is done. They'll probably announce the completion of this sale tomorrow morning (4/4) when they release their Q1 earnings. The only station that's left in the trust is WLGA in Opelika, AL. And that deal is awaiting consummation.

Even though the 2011 gfx update (8/8) was indeed a Monday launch, the 2008 graphics (5/24) and the 2011 set debut (9/24) were Saturday launches.
