  1. That look was a million pesos for Alexandria.
  2. Hate to be a speculator here, but Sinclair might be selling off one of its subsidaries (Ring of Honor Wrestling) to the WWE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7xpXSi5xkE
  3. I wonder if Tegna offered him that as somewhat of an apology/or if they gave him an internal transfer to start up at KPNX
  4. Hmm..I wonder how long they used Newswire on top of Image IX and VIII at the time
  5. With the major sale of MG and Nexstar finally closing, some of the divested stations have shown up. One of those was WSLS (Which personally got the best of the deal) being sold to Graham. Here is the piece they did about the closing of the sale to Graham:
  6. that will take time. Graham is pretty liberal with logos..and music so itll be interesting
  7. WSLS's company name at the bottom of their site says Copyright 2017 Graham Media Group
  8. I do know that Graham has a WSLS site waiting to go live. Looked like it was based off of WKMG's color scheme.
  9. KHOU's changes were very radical considering with the new news director from KGW installing hubby as lead AM anchor with Lisa Hernandez and then bumping Greg Hurst off of the 10P for Mia Gradney and Len Cannon. ITs bad when the only stable newscast is your noon newscast.
  10. Forgot about them.
  11. That is true. But there are also some longtimers at other stations in South Florida WTVJ: Trina Robinson and Jackie Nespral WPLG: Todd Tongen (Was there in 1989 and hired off on Ann Bishop's Suggestion) and also Kristi Kreuger (guess you could put hmmm Laurie Jennings to the list who came back after WSVN) WFOR: Poor Poor Elliot and I think Al Sunhine. Maybe Barry
  12. So, who is left at 7 in Miami in the mornings?
  13. Couple of misc. changes. First off..to Radar he was very well beloved and I know the staff at KPRC will miss him dearly. Also, KPRC has added a 1 PM Pay to Play newscast Im asusming (kind of the same at sister station KSAT), where its called Houston Life. This expands their weekday midday newscast offerings to 2 1/2 hours a day (starting at 11:30 AM) Also, former sister station to KPRC, WPLG no longer has Constance Jones on the payroll. Her last day was yesterday after a remarkable 9 1/2 years with the station. She will be headed up to Atlanta to work for FOX 5. Currently, her noon anchor slot is being handled by Jenise Fernandez and a new traffic woman Nicole Perez takes over. In other WPLG news, as mentioned in the shoutbox, Jacey Birch was in a car accident. She is currently pregnant at the moment. Looks like the temp. replacement is going to be Shyanne Malone (their weekend evening anchor) http://www.local10.com/news/local-10-news-anchor-jacey-birch-released-from-hospital-after-crash
  14. Well..in this crazy world of TV..some changes over at WPLG: First: Christina Vazquez who ran the Consumer Investigative portion of Local 10 left to do PR. Now it is looking like Constance Jones will be leaving the station. Her traffic duties have already been handed over to Nicole Perez and FTVLive mentioned that she will be headed up to FOX 5 in Atlanta in the mornings.
  15. Meanwhile, at the studios on Bissonent, Dave Ward got a Guiness World Record for being the longest serving anchor at KTRK-TV. Granted someone (cough Don Alhart) might have an argument http://abc13.com/news/dave-ward-nabs-guinness-world-record/1395170/
  16. I think they have the KYW signature now integrated
  17. As much as you think Meredith will cut there losses, they won't. The station is probably the cash cow for Meredith and won't give it up unless and only unless CBS makes them a pretty impressive offer. I am glad for the new ND and I hope he is able to make some great strides with the station and bring forth some of the KVUE ideas and adapt them to Atlanta.
  18. http://www.wcnc.com/news/local/larry-sprinkle-recovering-after-car-accident/173335381 Larry Sprinkle (morning meteorologist of WCNC) was involved in a car accident Wednesday. He is currently in hospital recovering.
  19. In regards to inviting Lester Holt, I would assume NBC affiliates can invite and it depends on Lester's and the nets schedule if he can come. This isn't a Nexstar thing. He has been to WRAL and to KPRC among other NBC affiliates. At the end of the day, and I am being dead serious here because I am sick and tired of seeing all of this rampant speculation. NBC just like any other network is not going to just jump the shark because Nexstar is cozy with them or that Tegna is cozy with CBS. I know this year has been kind of a weird year because no one thought at all that WRAL was going to lose its CBS affiliation to WNCN. That was totally out of left field. All of this other speculation at this point is really absurd and its not just on this one board but on several others within the past month. If we see a headline about KSL loosing its affiliation to KTVX from a reputable source, than that would be the time to go ahead and report it and have a discussion about potential implications of the deal. But until that happens, stop with this unnecessary speculation on any board that is not named the Speculatron 9000.
  20. This is freaking absurd. I hate kind of repeating myself, but this is almost a horrible joke to where there is no payoff.
  21. Mardek.....With the recent slew of buyouts to try and help settle their long term financials, to the point that right now as it stands currently, they are under a lot of debt (close to $4.5B). For them to add Tribune to the mix would be corporate suicide. No shareholder is willing to shoulder that much debt! Tribune for all intents and purposes are the most unique group in that they do own some major affiliates but they also own stations in DMA's 1-4 and those stations alone don't come cheap! If they ended up deciding to buy them, the debt load for the new Tegna would double to a point that shareholders would find it completely unsustainable
  22. Really doubt WTKR is going to get Ratner or Chapin. I don't mind Matt Tacka. But heck maybe we can get Ntropolis to do the voiceovers?
  23. So, outside of what happened in Baltimore yesterday, there are now two things going on with their subsidiary Ring of Honor Wrestling: 1) Ring of Honor COO is open to agreements with a working agreement with the WWE and possibly going to add shows to the WWE Network Source Site: http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2016/0427/611170/roh-coo-open-to-a-working-relationship-with-wwe/ 2) ROH and Sinclair are interesting in purchasing TNA Source: http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2016/0428/611193/roh-owners-interested-in-purchasing-tna-wrestling/ My opinions: 1) A great deal if they can get a working partnership going with WWE and put shows onto the Network. They have also been very friendly and at least are on Vince's good side instead of TNA (founded by Jeff Jarrett) 2) This is a big part that concerns Wrestling Fans. Yes, TNA has been struggling to the point they got evicted from their HQ in Nashville. The owner (Dixie Carter) is pretty much going to a shoestring budget. They do garner decent ratings for POP TV (formerly TV Guide Network) but it seems the organization is on its death knell. The reason for ROH to purchase this is for the tape library and international distribution deals. As it stands now, TNA stars can compete in ROH NON-Televised cards and iPPV's (and in fact TNA wrestlers can compete anywhere except WWE, just not on another organization's television show.)
  24. Maybe re-word it. They did lead the station through that disastrous time for them
  25. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wdbj-news-director-leaving-after-34-years/169427 The News Director @ WDBJ7 is leaving the station after 34 years at the station and of course was part of a brave management team (including the GM Jeff Marks) who have left the station in the light of the recent buyout of WDBJ from Schurz to Gray
