  1. How can the paperwork be all that time-consuming? Do they have to do it entirely by hand and in triplicate?
  2. So, you could say that Today's Taken Away? (Had to be said.)
  3. Scripps already owns KJRH in Tulsa, so they wouldn't be able to buy KOTV. (And while they'd be able to buy WBNS, they wouldn't be able to outright purchase WTHR in Indianapolis since they currently own WRTV.)
  4. I have never heard or read of this reasoning. Can you provide proof?
  5. The FTVLive article has a good idea: Here's another idea: Have three or four reporters down there to split the work. But, then, we're talking about Nexstar here.
  6. You could probably add Griffin (KOTV, KWTV, etc.) and Capital (WRAL) to that list.
  7. At this point, the delay could be because of the transition the government's in right now.
  8. GenericColumbusWebsite.com?
  9. At first glance, I thought that satellite dish was attached to the Jeep. Also, "Weather Wrangler" is much easier to say than "ABC2News Jeep Wrangler." Just saying.
  10. Amusingly, I read "LNT" as "LINT".
  11. Looks like Lakana's (formerly Internet Broadcasting) is no longer involved in the sites. Has Hearst taken the work in-house?
  12. Hearst? Tegna?
  13. If you think that's bad, WISC still uses channel3000.com and its sister station, WKBT, still uses channel8000.com.
  14. Maybe it'll be WFTS, with "ABC Action News" finally being ditched for something else. "ABC 28 News", anyone? "ABC Tampa Bay News"?
  15. I'm underwhelmed. The homepage feels like it's missing content. Individual article pages are better, but they use that "scroll to the next item" gimmick that I've come to hate.
  16. He had his phone with him on set? Weird.
  17. I think there's a better chance of, say, Hearst buying Scripps than ABC buying Scripps or Scripps buying ABC. On the bright side, if ABC did ever decide to sell all of their stations, at least we know which two companies wouldn't be able to buy them...
  18. Ah, a good ol'-fashioned road trip! Will it be by party bus or caravan?
  19. Why would NBC want to do that a second time, let alone with those particular stations?
  20. Ugh. I assume things were very different back when CBS owned the station...
  21. Probably Sinclair or Nexstar.
  22. He also has a voice fit for print. Zing! (The prison documentaries also need to go.)
  23. Wait... the affiliates' own news ticker or the network's ticker? If it's the network's ticker, wouldn't it already be in the video before the stream reaches the affiliates' systems?
  24. What does "dismissed" mean in this case?
  25. It has a rather... understated design. It loads fast, though! Too bad it was designed in Word, though. (It took me less than ten minutes to reduce 21.1 KB of Word-generated HTML to a lean, mean 716 bytes of well-formed HTML and CSS. It made for a fun exercise.)
