  1. Wow thats unfortunate.. . Sade already had a major injury which she pretty much almost died from as well and now this. She's endured a lot of pain and tragedy throughout her life, so I hope this doesn't bring down her morale. She's a strong class act woman though so I'm pretty confident she will recovery. But this time it seems like its not job related so thats really unfortunately. Hopefully she makes a speedy recovery.
  2. Yeah that was interesting to see them down there apparently there are a lot of reporters from different ABC O&O stations lending KTRK a hand. That was nice to see.
  3. Yeah and they did this when Lori was alone too when Steve Bartelstein left. So they'll keep trying different ones until they find the right fit. Who knows, maybe it could be Michelle? Or maybe even Lauren Glassberg, I hope she gets it. Personally, I think Lauren Glassberg is similar in style to Lori with the way she delivers the news and she just has this grace about how its delivered that really suits her and the station well. Very similar to Lori's style of delivery.
  4. Dray Clark is freelance? I thought he was permanent.
  5. I agree, its kinda lackluster at this point haha. Especially when they are serving the most populated and most expensive city and Metropolitan area in the nation. If they are serving the most densely populated and most expensive city in the nation, they will naturally be the most watched station in the nation.
  6. Ah, I see haha. Well so far so good this week, they've been in their studio all throughout so it seems like they are getting themselves back on track.
  7. Why are they back and forth in the newsroom and studio is there a reason behind that?
  8. They're back in the set again lol.
  9. If you're referring to their old studio that they had from 1993 to 2011, "The Live w/ Kelly Studio" has been expanded. The old set (TV13B), has been gone for a while since 2011 I recall, as they've combined both studios together to create one large studio for the Live with Kelly show. Though I believe they did utilize the Live with Kelly space once for a special election night coverage but that was way back in 2008, but they haven't used it since.
  10. Yep, that's correct, that's why the shot puts the anchors so close together, Because that desk is normally used for one anchor during quick news updates or for reports from the newsroom. It wasn't intended to be used for a full fledged broadcast so that's why its only one camera and prompter.
  11. Case In Point.
  12. Here is the definition of an Troll, that I found from Wikipedia, in which you had mentioned someone in one of your other posts to look for work in, I think you fit the definition quite well! . In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion,[3] often for the troll's amusement. And yes, I'm probably going to get a really "nice" message from you. . But that's to be expected, and thats just what you like to do, hence why you fit the bill of that definition really well. Now, in your response you stated that I have 1400 messages and 48 likes, and that we are all trolls. If we were trolls, we probably wouldn't have been able to posts this many messages and still be allowed to be on here. Secondly, you also claim that WPIX is a "Fake News" Organization. Do you have information and facts to back that up? Do you have an example of a fake news story that they produced? So I'm not sure how any of your comments really make sense or if they are even credible. Now if you want to take the time out of your busy schedule, in which you claim that we do not have, you can scroll through the majority of our comments and posts over the last 10 years in which this forum has been in existence. You'll see that they are quite constructive to the conversation. Unlike your 26 or so, comments of which the majority have overwhelmingly disrupted the conversation and created tension as the definition above states.
  13. Its been a long time since we've had trolls on these forums, looks like we've got ourselves a new one. .
  14. Looks like they've finally returned back to the street side main studio for the 11:00pm broadcast. Guess they've worked out all of the kinks!
  15. Yeah at first I thought they were in a new studio, but then I immediately realized it was just the newsroom small set that they do the updates from lol. Last time this was done was back when they had that fire years ago. Interestingly enough, I did see a report today during the Noon broadcast from Sandy Kenyon, he reported from the newsroom which hasn't been done in ages since where the anchors are sitting is usually where the reports are done. They did some updates to the news room with a large "Eyewitness News" long form logo appearing in the back of him and some updates too. I thought it was a nice sight to see, hopefully they use shots from there more often. This obviously means that the West 66th Street Side studio is inoperable or they probably have the blinds down so no one can see inside haha.
  16. So how do you think they will rebrand their news? Will they call it "New York's Very Own News at 5?" or Will they still keep the PIX11 Moniker?
  17. This may be a bit of a side track from the discussion but do you guys know if WNBC still does that still incorporates the reporter office desk camera shots like they did on their previous set? (2008 - 2012). I remember that was a staple of their previous set and one of the things they have marketed.
  18. My guess is she was added to lighten the load of work the morning anchors have to do since the Noon broadcast expanded to the extra hour.
  19. Well that won't be for too long. Lori is on Vacation so thats why various people are filling in for her.
  20. Not a fan at all of those, hopefully they use it sparingly haha. Problem is it doesn't look as clean as lets say what the weather channel would use. I think local stations should really refrain from this, because i don't think the viewers need a science lesson on how weather works, I think those that are that interested are better off watching The Weather Channel haha.
  21. Yeah he was a good Successor to Scott Clark who I also believe left Ohio for New York so I guess Rob wasn't following suit haha. Good for him though! Wish him the best. Yep they gotta do all those intros again lol. Maybe when they redo the intros with the new talent it they'll add a New York themed Backdrop to it so it doesn't look as unfinished lol. But best of luck to Rob what a good person he is.
  22. One thing that I can't stand about the current package is the ABC Circle 7 portion of their lower thirds. The #abcny hashtag looks gross and unfinished. And the time and temp bug still needs work. It should be a bit more subtle. They really need to hire new people to overhaul their on-air look to bring it to standard. WABC has never been known for their graphics sadly. They are just not "premium" enough for the number market. And they've always had this problem for years on end. They can't seem to get it right like their sister stations lol. KABC WLS have always had better graphics. Even WPVI in my opinion is miles away than WABC. By no means is this a horrible look, but it can certainly be better and much improved.
  23. Yeah, to be honest I'm not a fan of this new look at all. I hope they stay with what they currently have for as long as possible lol.
  24. Ah ok, well honestly, they're current look isn't dramatically bad. Would be nice if they followed in some of KABC's cues with their on-air look but I guess that remains to be seen when the final product is unveiled. I say they should take their time. Its not like the 2004-2008 days when they were in dire need of an overhaul. I wouldn't mind if they remained with the current music. It would be nice if they utilzed different cuts and bumpers in that vast music package that they have thats the only thing. Even if it is still Series 4 lol.
  25. Ah ok, as for the music, which I'm curious more than ever, what cuts of Eyewitness News do they close resemble? I would like to hear a sample. .
