Hmm, she left KUSI quietly for CBS8. The former WTVD alumni. Hmm okay.

Well, she too had a lawsuit against KUSI according to that Times of San Diego article.

  2. Spotted Anna Laurel filling in tonight on KFMB. Not sure if she's freelance or not (she doesn't have a bio on the site) or how long she been there as I don't watch KFMB terribly often.

It has been a rollercoaster ride at KTLA over the past five days. I think now the station needs to focus on replacing Lynette (and Dayna). I think if the station wanted to make this right, do they go "back to the future?" I say bring in Wendy Burch as a pillar of stability as the station begins a search for a replacement. Megan Telles aint it. She better suited as a reporter. I know Wendy is in a behind the scenes role, but it might just be what they need to put this tumultuous period to rest.

Wendy is not an option. She doesn't want to do that. That's why she's in the role she's in now.

So I lied. They got a while new set! Main anchor Katie Raml posted this pic on Facebook.

Can a moderator change the name to KNXV new set or something like that please?

This desk looks like the temp desk KTLA is using...

Wow that extended forecast WLS is using brings back late 90’s vibes. KGTV used something similar before.

also KGO and KABC still haven’t updated its abc on-air bug on its newscasts. However regular programming and promos have the updated version.

Yes, it reminds me of this package from the mid 2000s before they went HD (weather is at 16:36):

This package was one of the best from KGTV IMO.

With the Olympics over, I've noticed the NBC O&O stations are back to using their "regular" logos during local news broadcasts.  This marks the first time that the regular logos are used with the "Look S" graphics - I believe these stations went the entire 2021 calendar year using the "Olympic" versions of their station logos.  Has that ever happened before?

Yeah, KNSD is back to the regular 7, and not the notched 7. So I guess the notch was specific to the Olympic logo.

  7. Barbara-Lee Edwards has officially left KFMB to continue recovering from the hemorrhage in her brain:

Some extra screenshots if anyone's interested from this morning's newscast...

So far I don't see any fancy new bumpers or variations in design... However, a point to note is that they've removed the "San Diego" part of the logo in their news open, while they added back the "San Diego" part of the logo in their bug. (In Look N this was reversed).

Speaking of the logo, I think the KNSD logo is refreshed... It seems like the they have a new font for the letters "San Diego". The top right part of the "7" on the left logo is also "cut apart", unlike the one on the right where there is an angle visible in the top right part of the "7". I'm not sure if this is just a bug or it's a new logo designed by NBC...

Tbh I hope they used the new LA Groove update cuts on KNBC and WTVJ but oh well I guess they stayed with the old one...

It seems they really are only using that logo variant in the bug. Everywhere else the logo appears is the non notched 7.

Maria Arcega-Dunn just announced on Instagram that KSWB is launching a FOX5 News at 7:30pm newscast starting tonight.

Phil Blauer will be her co-anchor. Wow, that's a long evening block of news. Now 4p-8p.

  10. I think KNSD is close to debuting the new graphics. Now that they're weather anchors are back in studio, they started airing a new weather spot promoting weather from NBC and Univision and the peacock background from the new opens is there. Sorry I don't have a pic or video.

She must been from Hawaii, as I'm seeing in comments she's young retiring in her 50s, she must have a lot of money in the 🏦. To last her the rest of her life!!!

I also believe that whatever caused her to have extended time off multiple times in the last year may also have something to do with it.

Interesting. Probably just a coincidence, but he is the second "Politically Speaking" host to have originally come from the network to San Diego and then now...return to New York? He follows Alex Presha, who also came from NBC News and is now at ABC News. Perhaps Danny will chart that same path.

Maybe... They seem to have known for a bit he was leaving because they had been referring to Priya as a political reporter as well for at least the last month and a half. I was thinking, I guess this election cycle is worthy of two political reporters, but turns out she was the replacement.

  13. A few departures from KNSD this week. Morning Anchor Greg Bledsoe's last day was today. Steven Luke will be taking his place:

Also, political reporter Danny Freeman is leaving for an opportunity on the East Coast. Priya Sriddar will take his place as political reporter:

How come Aloha is off evenings?

I'm pretty sure it was at her request. She had been off air for a while. She came back around the time when Jason Handman left, she moved into his spot and the evenings were vacant until now.

So is Chrissy taking all mornings shows with Aloha mid shifts and Brad in the evenings?

Liberty and Justina seemed to be the hybrids and fill ins.

Chrissy comes in at 5a to do the whole morning.

I don't know, I'll have to see tomorrow. I don't really like Justina or Liberty doing weather... They are awkward at it. Aloha is doing midday.

  17. Over at KSWB, seems like Brad Wills is the permanent late evening weather anchor for 6, 7, 10 & 11. I saw Justina Myers, who previously had been doing it (poorly I might add) was back to reporting. I'm not sure if there is a replacement for him in the morning as hardly anyone's bios say what shows they are on.
