Although it is produced by an ABC affiliate and airs predominantly on ABC stations, it is not an ABC network program. It is syndicated by Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

I like that open, but I prefer the Charles Gibson-era set. Beautiful colors worked into the set, and it provided so many good camera angles other than just the anchor in front of the big screen.

If they go back to World News Tonight... will they also bring back the classic World News Tonight music? I hope so... the current music is just so blah.

If you sort of squint... it still wouldn't look anything like the Fox Tribune graphics.

Interesting tonight on WISN. Matt Serwe flew over from fellow Hearst station KETV to do fill-in on weather. It's the first time I've seen them pull talent from other Hearst stations for fill-in help for the studio. Chief Meteorologist Mark Baden is on vacation this week, and Chris Gloninger (normally weekend evenings) filled in for him during the week. Normally one of the remaining morning meteorologists (Sally Severson [weekdays] and Jeremy Nelson [weekends]) would pull the weekend evening coverage shift, but apparently neither were available or willing.

Yeah, that is indeed part of the standard Hearst graphics package. WISN uses that as well.

I don't know if it is just a coincidence, but the style of WBAL's reminds me a lot of something that Milwaukee's NBC affiliate WTMJ would do. WTMJ's is different, of course, but were they to use WBAL's ticker exactly as is, it wouldn't look at all out of place. It seems to match Journal's graphics style quite well.

I don't think it's all that standardized. I don't think WISN uses anything like that - I've never seen it, at least.

Journal Broadcast Group is reorganizing. Wow. I so disagree. About the only thing I don't like about Time Warner are their boxes, which are easily avoidable by buying a TiVo. Otherwise, I think they're a great cable company. From what I've heard, *anyone* else would be worse (not including Verizon FiOS, of course).

Lot of moves going on in Milwaukee: - Morning anchor Shawn Patrick has left FOX affiliate WITI. It appears that his contract was simply not renewed by the station. - Meteorologist Luke Sampe will leave ABC affiliate WISN at the end of July to become the chief meteorologist for WFRV, Green Bay's CBS affiliate. - Anchor/Reporter Shelby Croft will leave WISN in August and join Columbus, Ohio's CBS affiliate WBNS.
