Why do i felt like i went to church? Powerful. Open communication in alcohol abuse in newsrooms or work environments or in life is badly needed. Someone no matter how much friends they have or approachable they are, could only show that much who they are. No one could really detect signs of one's stress that could lead to consequences, not even the one in stress. You never really recovered from problems, it's ongoing. Former ATL mayor Andrew Young said on CBS 46 (pardon me for paraphrasing a bit) that 'too many talented people don't have enough love in their lives + they have extra burdens, you'd think they have looks + material going on.' She'd felt alone when curtains close. Burden was her father's death + mother's hospitalization, taken care of others + not herself much. Yes we all have faults + here comes the phrases 'let him who is without sin cast the first stone' + 'Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones' but how much times do we say that to the point there may be fear of not confronting problems as one who cares, even as the stressed has to face the problems themselves? When one feels a loss, no matter how faultless they are, there's always a sense of guilt from what more could i've done, what signs did i miss when it comes to situations like this. Such levels of grief to deal.

The Dean of Buffalo TV News has went home to be with the lord. Former WKBW's Irv Weinstein passes away after battling ALS at age 87. https://t.co/9sDLYZ53cg

I dig KCBS theme especially the close. So catchy. KTLA 1990 theme not only represents such glory of an era, but hands down ranks up there as one of the greatest themes in the market of that era, if not of all time anywhere. I don't mind KNBC's opens at that time. Short but to the point, open itself is 'catchy' with cutaways + motions. KCOP's open was ahead of its time. It was like a tv show with cult following (think of a cooler 'broadcast news' or 'network' perhaps, lack of better examples, sorry) Man if there was any other place to be born other than NYC (and i wouldn't trade that for anywhere else) it would be LA. Life there at that time (or any time) must've been fun.

Fusion's quite kickass. I'll throw in SA's Extreme + Outlaw News*, 615's Magnum and why the hell not, Killer Tracks' FOX 1998 (as dated as it debuted). Honorary mention goes to Kalehoff's WNYW Jazzy 1994 theme. Anyone got cuts of that? So catchy. *Fixed

KREX 1995 theme, identified it as "Marauders" from Network Music.

Not gonna lie, after seeing that NC Now open, all it was missing were announcing of "filmed before a live studio audience" + "in stereo where available" notice below. i was waiting to see what story they gonna tell on "tonight's episode". Cue the laugh track. Don't tell me they wouldn't 'fit in' between Full House and Family Matters. Perfect 'sitcom' open that captured the 90s, love it. By god, can anyone identify the WCNC nightcast theme. Is it production music? So addictive. I keep hearing that theme as background for WFAN Radio's 'Benigno and Roberts' football picks segments every friday. Yes WBTV's open is the standard of modern times, holds up so well.

In 1993, KXAS led campaign in a cable retransmission issues (who knew those messes exist then?) against Telecable. Promos included Scott Murray and Iona Johnson. What role did she have on 5 at that time? What became of telecable? It seems the issue targeted those areas (Arlington, Plano, Richardson) were the ones affected. Did the threat followed thru?

It was more cheesy than bad (we're talking about the turn of the millennium here for what it's worth) but yeah...

Dana: Most People goin' out of business, do you know why they doin' it? Reporter: You think Channel 4 is going out of business? Dana: Uh-huh Reporter: No, We're becoming FOX. Dana: Oh y'all goin'..oh channel 11 is goin' out of business, huh? Reporter: no,no Here's the thing, man on the streets interviews are painfully funny. That said, I thought the WSVN affiliation switch interviews were cringy...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=TtrO2DNmZAw;t=40 that moment above it TOOK. THE. CAKE. The reporter showed great restraint from saying "NO YOU...." I'm Done.

Especially with all the talk of main street vs 'elite' street (code: hollywood, wall street, NYC) nonsense that's been happening for years. I can imagine how those heartland audiences would rather watch tailored local 'good day' type shows.

WWOR is basically a parking lot with few noted shining rims. It's basically a subchannel, even if they can't move into WNYW's subs due to COL requirements, I believe. Mind you, Chasing was relocated to 11pm for 'Family Feud' hour reruns. 'Some bad game show' you may be talking about is the limited summer test run, 'Iwitness', produced by Judge Judy.

Nothing makes me happy like a hearing a classic. Dan Dean's KOMO News 4 theme especially the promo at the beginning of clip. All I wanted to hear is the full theme rather than just a NMSA sample. If anyone, ANYONE has it, please...dm if you can. I had an interaction a while back who has the KOMO and KING cds from Dan Dean. I asked him to send the mp3 files to no avail. I'll probably try again. Man, didn't Fisher's KOMO had soul or what? (Case can made same for Bullett/Belo's KING)

It dawned on me. The very first version (my fave) of 'Come Home To NBC' back when they just introduce the current peacock in 1986. The theme alone should've lasted a full season IMO before they switched to gospel choir version. Campaign would've lasted five (instead of four) years. The instrumental version kicks ass as well. Someone stitch up + send it to NMSA.

I swear to god, how that gross POS thing still exists? Oh yeah, douchebaggery rules. Newsflash: IT'S. NOT. FUNNY. EVER. I just feel like reporters have to prepare to counterattack perps who do this. Like throw a dart at them or shoot them bullets. Stations gotta gather for plans to stop this nonsense. Youtube clips of these 'incidents' encourage more of this douchebaggery.

Just watched the 6:00 news online. Emotional seeing anchors marching on while paying tribute to Ron. Moral of the story is sentiment shared: Live your life, appreciate it. We all have an expiration date, some sooner than others. No matter how much we hope to live as long a la Betty White or Dick van Dyke. As fit as he was, younger than his age, while training, not even fitness did it prevent tragedy. Strength for his family + friends at this time.

Anyone has similar sentiments for WLVI to wax on?

The PIX tv schedule can be so erratic with its changes.

Pitbull's NYE actually gave me life, it was pretty good. Although it should've been called Snoop Dogg's NYE Revolution feat. Pitbull since he (and others) was a towering figure + had more airtime than 'bull. The crew counted down in Miami rather than shooting to Times Sq. for the ball drop.

What if i tell you there's exists a vidcheck spanning more than 5 hrs. of one particular June 6 1996 switching from WNYW to WNBC UNEDITED. A look at TV the way it was starting with basically a full episode of Good Day New York. EX-WSVN anchor Penny Daniels substituted for the vacationing Jim Ryan. Notable headlines included Bulls vs Supersonics (RIP) in the NBA Finals and Pamela Anderson giving birth to a baby boy.

If it goes the way of sanity's sake that is, for that we thank him + simultaneously...F#(K OFF!

Yep. Ask Carlos Danger. Similar, but he's facing that possibility too.

I was just thinking that. In Australia, there is a sport anchor on the 'today' show on channel nine. So why wouldn't it work here? They already have michael and jesse palmer. They could rotate ESPN anchors (esp. newbies + not yet star players a la SVP) to fill in + in turn have their moment of shine.

ridiculous reaching aside, isn't that what we call, um i don't know...LOCAL NEWS NOW?!
-
Just take a look at this presidential election. Reflective if you ask me.

ladies and gents, for all the classic NYC newscasts you need, look no further than the return of RB1330's channel (and i'm saving almost every newscast before it mysterious disappears again) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr1far7Mt2IgQZ4CZFfRiGA/videos?feature=hovercard
