back from the dead, thru my saved video collection from the old last network's account, in time of the 75th anniversary of broadcast television as we know it by july 1, it's WCBS' 50th anniversary special in 1991 entitled 'Here's 2 You' hosted by Jim Jensen and Michele Marsh. CBS Daytime is set. NBC Daytime should not try another talk show again. Nate Berkus, Jeff Probst, Meredith Vieira (much as i like her) should have sent them that message. Let the affiliates use the hour for news or local programming (eg. 4pm) or present something different to the affiliates (soap opera or an hour of games) that would be useful after Days of our lives. It's ABC Daytime that needs some help. This time, Katie and the FAB Life should have sent them the message. Ditto what i said about the hour that can be useful for NBC for ABC, this time before or after GH. Would at least bringing back OLTL (which had decent ratings unlike AMC prior to cancellation) or creating a new soap hurt that much, regardless of economics?

Don't you think there is a message that stations are sending to the syndication marketplace, basically meaning "Create unique programming that'll bring ratings to us or we'll make it on our own" in creating local news/programming? It appears the marketplace is running out of ideas. How could they be trying it again in a beaten horse genre. Meredith, Jeff Probst, Anderson, Queen Latifah, and now Tyra all have faltered or now faltering. This season's syndie slate is so slim (FABLife, CrazyTalk, Crime Watch Daily) This could be the point where there's cord-cutting everywhere (sans netflix of course) Locals could invest in local productions, not just news or pay for segment talk shows. (And yes to Spectrum27 from other topic who said bring back game shows. When Steve Harvey basically revitalized 'THE FAMILY FEUD', that says something about where can the game genre go in the future.) Examples can be found in Puerto Rico, powerhouses like Telemundo (a 2-hr daily variety show, and where the top rated show in the market is a weekly 2-hr comedy/variety show headlining by one of the market's popular comic/host) and WAPA, an indie station, where from 5am-7pm is totally LOCAL (news, variety, talk, games). Univision is dead last because as someone stated in another topic from here that it is 'a comedy of errors' done by management, local and abroad, meaning it is not catering to local (caribbean/american) tastes, as it was formerly Teleonce, rather it is basically a mexican station and you might as well take it off from the signals and clear it full on cable like stateside.

Would Tuesday's other cut, "Tuesday 15" be considered a variation of the Newscenter Melody or not, and why isn't it referred as a "musical logo found" on NMSA?

Interesting that you brought up SD's high cost of living. It reminded me about reading an article concerning former DC Radio DJ Jack Diamond who was fired from DC's Hot AC station, later moved to SD. Facing issues out west including the cost of living and cost of enrolling their children to school, A veteran who may have probably been financially well off to live in SD admitted it was too much for him even. He auditioned for a spot at WLS-FM Chicago before bolting out to SD then returning to DC and now back in Chi-town and permanently at WLS-FM. I probably shouldn't brand the city as a whole, but how high is the cost of living in SD for anyone with a bit of knowledge can answer?

Orlando has a soccer club and from what i've read Miami would soon get one too, thanks in part to the backing of Mr. Beckham. It seems like certain places you never thought would have a MLS club do.

There's that but it's quite a coincidental that a move like that (the view to ABC 'News' from 'Entertainment') all the news productions are held in New York and the entertainment division is held in L.A. (with the exception of 'millionaire' which tapes in Connecticut, but I digress since that's syndie) ABC daytime (which is part of 'Entertainment') now only consists of "The chew" (taped in NY) and "General Hospital" (taped in LA). Just curious, but any chance they may move 'the chew' to L.A in the future so all of ABC's 'entertainment' is focused on one town? Probably not, since the show's all about food, and what better place to film at than literally 'the food capital of the world'? BTW: the theme y'all been wondering where it came from through the 'weekend' and 'weekday' version clips? I think that's part of the Non-stop music's '92 GMA Package. yes, package. there was a demo from the long time, old Non-stop music's website of the package. The demos in general don't work anymore if you try to archive.org it. Sidenote: My favorite demo anywhere on the old non-stop music website was the 1996 Family Channel theme campaign "Just watch us now". @Raymie: they'll be two English speaking newscasts at 6p (or 7p) and 11p (or 12a) by early 2015, and from what I've read one Spanish speaking newscast, not sure for what time. I think it's unprecedented though, local talent anchoring in English? How receptive will the concept be amongst the local aundience in a country that's Spanish dominant? Though Puerto Rico can be considered a bilingual nation in part due to numerous businesses where English is a necessity. Don't forget it's also an American territory, thus making Puerto Ricans as Americans as well. Maybe Raymie, you can assess how much of an English speaking population in PR is there. I think like the third or fourth generations of latinos in the u.s. whose English is their primary language, probably (second or) third or fourth generations of Puerto Ricans may have English as their primary language.

Well WORA-TV sub-channel ABC 5 has opened for business. As of Midnight Tonight (joining In progress: jimmy kimmel live), transmissions began on 5.2 across Puerto Rico, as well the 're-launch' of the ABC 5 website. http://abc5.tv It seems incomplete, but there's a schedule page which showcased some off-network programming listings. If that is the case, then the channel has the rights to older off-network comedy reruns, including 'the nanny' and 'who's the boss' in the morning after GMA, and 'mad about you' and 'just shoot me' in the afternoon. There's also 'Ripley's believe it or not' (probably the dean cain/Kelly Packard version in the 90s/00s) after GH. I'm not sure if they're picking up any FIRST-RUN syndication shows at this time, as a poster suggested to pick up any show like Judge Mathis since not a lot of court shows air at least on local/cable affiliates serving Puerto Rico. Right now they're airing Eyewitness News from WABC, but they'll produce two local English speaking newscasts alongside a local access prime talk show hosted by a former Univision Puerto Rico morning co-host who was part of a large layoff due to Univision shutting down its local operations, transitioning the affiliate into a repeater for the network. Last time on this thread, many were talking about the affiliation switch of ABC in Puerto Rico from low power WSJP (formerly WPRU, but the former two transmitters, it and WSJX-CW merged with WSJP to become one, thus those two signals went silent) to WORA as a sub-channel (based in mayaguez, but plans to transmit on the same channel 5 in Ponce and San Juan to cover the island). The switch takes place Sat. Nov. 1. In preparation, a :30 second promo was released as a tease for the new station. Its facebook page was put up as well: http://www.facebook.com/DAME5PR Another note, in Aguadilla/Mayaguez, the western retransmitters of Univision-11 and Telemundo-2 respectively, (WORA-5 and WOLE-12) are switching vice versa. Although still in negotiations, after 20 years as the western coverage for Univision, WORA would retransmit for Telemundo, which harkens as a return for the aforementioned partners, repeated from 1985-94, before then, for rival WAPA-TV from 1979-85. WOLE, which signs on to be a satellite for Univision, retransmitted for Telemundo from 1979-84, for WAPA-TV from 84-94, and Telemundo again from 1/1/95-1/1/15. WAPA was left with no western retransmitter for a while until it signed with WNJX (which then retransmitted WSTE-7 (supersiete) ) in 2001. Another retransmission mess, but not on a 1995 level so to speak. P.S: Raymie, (or anyone can answer this for that matter) as someone whose more familiar with spanish language television, why are there so many religious stations in Puerto Rico? Is Puerto Rico that 'religious' of a country? Or is it probably better to make money as a religious station than even a low power/low rated ABC/CBS/FOX station, given the island's population of many speaking spanish more than english?

Don't forget WSJP-LP (geez such low power stations under one group) for the CW, another subchannel of WPRU. Are there other vacant full power stations out there in PR for a company to acquire or is the island THAT small for many transmitters to exist?

That gets pushed back to 4pm et/ 3p ct. It'll still be an hour show. Meaning instead of competing with 'Primer Impacto' (News Show), it would be competing against 'El gordo y la flaca' (Gossip Show). That also pushes 'Caso Cerrado' (court show) out of its longtime 4p slot to 3p. My question is this though, is this schedule shuffle reflective of the national feed, or is this a special feed for those 14 o&o stations dedicated to the special schedule?

Nonetheless, what do you expect from certain people in the city of "Brotherly Love" when it's an oxymoron when they don't show their love back, after a person spent their time there before leaving, showing gratitude to the viewers. No, 11am would be better to show the view and their flailing ratings "Who's boss?" The Talk just beat the view in demos alone last sweeps and GH is buoyed with stable ratings (due to few soaps in all and the only soap at 2pm)
