  1. KUSI, San Diego; news tease, 1993:
  2. And ATV-10 in Melbourne, Australia, although that version is no longer on YouTube. Only a follow-up promo is still online:
  3. The overall style is very similar to the well-known "Team to Watch" KNXT promos from a few years later. I wonder if they were produced by the same company that had switched clients in the meantime? (I remember reading that the KNXT promos were done by Collier Concepts.)
  4. KTRK's Good Morning Houston, 1989:
  5. KNBC news promo, 1977:
  6. CNN's Inside Politics, 1994:
  7. Speaking of CLTV, we've already seen a 2003 clip of the cable news channel in this thread, so here's one from 2004:
  8. By the way, here's a clip of KTVK's Good Morning Arizona from 1996 -- you'll see some similarities (although not nearly as much as KBWB, which adopted KTVK's format lock, stock, and barrel in the late 1990, but whose footage from that era has never made it online, at least as far as I know):
  9. The YouTube description gives the date as March 1999, but we know how unreliable those descriptions can be.
  10. What do we know about WMAQ's Daytime? This clip, featuring Nesita Kwan and Allison Rosati is from 1999; the setup gives out a vaguely "Good Morning Arizona" vibe:
  11. From Chicago, a short WFLD news promo from that brief period in 1987 when the station aired news at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. (an unusual time slot for a Central Time station!), but not at 9 p.m.: By the way, the first "32" logo seen above -- from "Latenight 32" -- was the station's pre-Fox logo. And here are the first seven minutes of a WFLD newscast from the following year:
  12. World News Tonight has been a milseading name for years. All three network newscats are a disgrace in this respect.
  13. And here's SABC TV1 in South Africa with the same graphics:
  14. Boy does this 1995 KABC morning news promo seem familiar: Here's the WLS version from two years later (go to the 1:47 mark
  15. Oh, and let's not forget this: And this: Of course, the graphics seen above come from here:
  16. Well, there's also this -- an example of licensing rather than outright stealing: And in New Zealand:
  17. Australia's Ten Network emulating the CBS Evening News open in 1990: Here's the original, by the way:
  18. A WLS news update from the "On Your Side" era:
  19. And WJKS:
  20. KOIN, Portland, OR; 11 p.m. (complete), 1988:
  21. NBC's Statue of Liberty... ...became the Sydney Harbour bridge on ATN7 in Sydney, Australia... ...and a local statue on ADS7 in Adelaide, Australia: Also, not the similarity of the ADS7 set to the NBC Nightly News set:
  22. The 1990s version of the WSVN Newsplex -- in Germany:
  23. We've seen this before, but this is how Udell was introduced to WTHR in Indianapolis back in 1976; the promos were either done by Joe Sedelmaier (of WLS and Wendy's "Where's the beef?" fame) or by someone closely imitating his style:
  24. At this point, it might be less time-consuming to come up with a list of markets where Udell hasn't worked! He didn't stay long at any particular station, did he? Here he is during his second stint in Chicago:
  25. Speaking of Chicago news themes, this is where Dick Marx's famous WBBM signature comes from:
