They're using RAI Due's news theme! (Or rather, Italy's RAI Due used this music a few years later.)

Ah, now I remember seeing that on NMSA. I presume WLS never used it on any regularly scheduled newscasts?

Is that CBC's 1970s The National theme being used in WLS's election open (at 4:15)?

I wonder how that worked. Was one of them in the field and the other in the studio?

From 1996, the launch promo for CNNfn, CNN's dedicated business channel; the service shut down in 2004: Anyone recognize the voiceover guy? He did quite a few promos for CNN in the 1990s, but I later heard him doing political commercials for Republicans and various conservative causes.

I wonder if those sung opens were inspired by KTVK and... ♫ Arizona's News People! ♫
