So this turned up. Two great promos from the 1980 Atlanta Emmy Awards. At about 1:02, we hear the "WSB 1980 News Theme" in all it's glory. The slogan: "It Takes 2". https://www.facebook.com/reel/887019726240271

LOL. WTSP and WTLV are not too impressive. Both built in the '60's if I recall.

WTSP from September 2002. The graphics and set were short lived. The next month, they blew up this look for the red and white graphics they had until 2008.

Former NHC spokesman and TV meteorologist Dennis Feltgen had some very nice words for Dr. Frank on Facebook. The Tampa stations did many interviews with him.

WBNS weekend newscast from 1997. Those graphics were truly mind-blowing at the time!

It's been confirmed that Mannheim Steamroller composed the 1979 theme that WOWT used, called "Action Spirit". The KMTV 1982 theme also sounds like it could be a Mannheim Steamroller composed piece.

Tampa, Denver and Cleveland aren't 'mid-sized' markets

Watching today, looks like WCMH is still on the temp set and only showing tight shots of the weather center as well.

Here's hoping that several state attorney general's will oppose this merger. KUSA says that the Colorado Attorney General is concerned about the negative impact. The Colorado AG previously stepped in to oppose the supermarket merger of Kroger and Albertsons, which fell apart. Personally, I am writing to my state attorney general to ask that they oppose this merger.

Today I noticed that WCMH in Columbus seems to be doing the news from a different spot in the studio. Looks like they moved the desk over to the stand up area. Anyone know what's up?

Nexstar owns WFLA - one of their jewels. Tegna owns WTSP. I know many dislike Tegna but I will say they have, in my opinion, really beefed up the staff at WTSP. Brought back veteran Dave Wagner, Courtney Robinson is a terrific co-anchor. the weather staff has several good picks. WTSP has had bad management for so long, it's just good to see that station shine a bit. There is some speculation about the CBS affiliation moving to CBS owned WTOG in 2028.
