  1. Sounds like a bunch of examples of separate packages. Is there anything 'revealed' here?
  2. Clip of John Lennon doing the weather at WPVI in 1975 and shots of the "Action News" studio with a strange anchor desk:
  3. I remember their website from back in 2001. It had this super cool 'techno' track playing in the background.
  4. WTOG "Tampa Bay Tonight" newsbreak with Kathryn Bursch, who was later with WTSP
  5. WDTN news open, used from 1976-78, according to a comment:
  6. WTVT, just weeks before the affiliation switch in 1994. The station made changes to on-air graphics earlier that year.
  7. Clips of WFLA's "tabloid" era from 1994:
  8. WCMH from 1980. With the "Theme from Rocky"?!
  9. Part of a WFLA newscast from 1976 (!) with anchor and news director Joe Mannion, Paul Catoe with weather, and Milt Spencer on sports. The closing theme is from the NBC Background Library. No open was included.
  10. Another ABC affiliate that used Ernie Anderson. Also, KTVK's news director at the time was Cecil Tuck, brother of Michael Tuck of San Diego fame and Gene Tuck from KTVI and KSAT.
  11. WTVT (CBS) promos and news update from Sept. 1993, just prior to the arrival of anchor John Wilson:
  12. A big find from the Tampa/St. Petersburg market: WTSP from December 11, 1994, promoting the "Big Switch" from ABC to CBS. There's also a WTOG newscast from 1991 later in this video:
  13. WEVU Ch. 26, the ABC affiliate in southwest Florida (now WZVN "ABC 7") 11:00 newscast from 1988:
  14. Part of a WTSP 11:00 newscast from 1999 with Sue Zelenko, Reginald Roundtree, Dick Fletcher and Al Keck. I felt like WTSP, at this point, was kinda falling behind the other stations in the market, IMO.
  15. Most of a WTVN-Ch.6 newscast from 1987 and part of "World News Tonight". What's interesting is at about 31:00, there is a spot discussing WTVN's pending sale from Taft Broadcasting to another owner. WTVN was spun off to Anchor Media, which was founded by several former executives of Gulf Broadcasting and WTSP.
  16. The second half of a WTSP newscast from 1985 with weather and sports segments:
  17. WTSP news promo and commercial breaks from 12/31/88. That summer, the station debuted a new studio set and graphics, but kept the "Action News" moniker and theme music they'd been using since 1983. A few months after this, in April 1989, a computer espionage scandal rocked the market, resulting in the arrest of WTSP's news director and assistant news director, who had formerly been employed by WTVT and still had access to WTVT's computer network
  18. In 1987, KFMB's Loren Nancarrow did a story about the Los Angeles TV news ratings war and the type of stories being aired:
  19. i don't think this has been posted. It's WSB from 1974. The main anchor is David Sisson and the title of newscast is "Newsroom". Surprisingly, they are also using "MCTYW" here:
  20. WTSP sports director Al Keck in 1989. WTSP was still "Action News" at this point but would become "NewsCenter 10" in Sept. of '89:
  21. WFLA sportscast from 1989 with popular but polarizing sportscaster Chris Thomas:
  22. From 1988, rare clip of sportscaster Steve Talbot at WTSP. He was only with the station about 14 months and was replaced by Al Keck. AFAIK, this was his last TV job.
  23. In 1986, WXFL (WFLA) was in third place in the Tampa Bay ratings wars. They were using the slogan "Helping You Win!" as featured here:
  24. WTSP "NewsCenter 10" sportscast with Al Keck:
  25. Was hoping to find a clip on YT but nothing turned up. There is a mid 70's promo that was proof they used the "Eyewitness News" moniker.
