  1. Pretty sure she’s not living in a hole, so I doubt space is an issue. Could be she doesn’t see the need to work from home. As far as the crew, whatever cuts that may be forthcoming, it’s doubtful anything would prevent them from reaching the technical people of whatever NBC/MSNBC program they may work on.
  2. Color me surprised!! She seems like such a peach to work with and would do anything and everything to lend a helping hand.
  3. If it can be executed from DC (which is the case), then there's no reason to go back to the affiliates. I think it comes down to what are the future plans with CBSN and to a larger extent CBS News.
  4. Solid pick. Also, good to now know the reason behind Tom Negovan's departure. Both him and Nancy will no doubt be great in their new roles.
  5. Sounds like a rare miss (if you will) for them. As we move into severe weather season, I wouldn’t be surprised if mets started returning to the studio/weather center. There’s only so much that can be done at home.
  6. Who knows?? I wouldn’t be surprised if they just hire someone new out of the blue one day or officially announce 3 yrs. from now the job is his.
  7. No. Rob and Allison would have to retire. WMAQ tends to be faithful (to a fault) that I can't remember the last time anyone was fired.
  8. Happened to be walking by WFLD and in addition to the small changes I mentioned previously regarding Studio 32, they have also added a video monitor similar to the one they have in the main studio. Tough to see in this picture, but it is up and running..
  9. Dick Johnson riding things out in Michigan
  10. Kaitlin Sharkey made her debut today (?) as the new weekend sports anchor/reporter.
  11. I couldn’t imagine anyone at ABC News truly welcoming the opportunity to become ABCNN. I would expect some major pushback with them wanting to remain independent, if you will, as much as possible.
  12. AT&T could be the perfect home for ABC & Freeform if Disney were to sale them. As far as rebuilding the sports division, that wouldn’t be necessary given that that could be controlled by Turner Sports with sports currently airing on TBS and TruTV moving over to ABC. Then, over time, picking up more sports rights. Honestly, I could see Disney selling a lot of things over the next 5 years... (All things ABC (broadcast network, tv production arms, etc..) Freeform, Nat Geo, Blue Sky (do they really need 3 animation studios?), Lucasfilms (yeah..I said it) along with their stake in A+E networks and maybe some 20th Television properties.
  13. Cuomo clarifies previous statement(s) https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/chris-cuomo-praises-cnn-after-criticism-anchor-job-trump-2020-4%3famp
  14. Kathy Brock loses mother to Covid-19, while her father remains in an ICU https://www.chicagotribune.com/coronavirus/ct-coronavirus-chicago-news-anchor-kathy-brock-20200413-62etw5tzxve5dpx6m3gfkavybi-story.html
  15. Given Rob’s pre-existing health condition, he should have been anchoring from home weeks ago, so I don’t understand the sense of urgency now. It’s as if they can’t make up their minds what they want to do and just come up with something different every week. So the morning, afternoon and weekend anchor pairs won’t be broken up (1 at home/ 1 in studio)? Why not apply this across all newscasts?
  16. A lot of the coverage (not just from NBC) isn’t really good. Some reporters tend to ask the same questions every single day and/or tend to be argumentative towards this administration. As Dr. Birx said an hour or so ago. There will be a time to step back and fully assess what went wrong/right during this crisis, but now isn’t the time for that. I agree with her.
  17. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/abcs-david-muir-is-trying-remain-calm-steady-pandemic-1287684 A pretty good read (highly recommend) 'World News Tonight' has been the top-rated show in all of American television for three weeks this month (March), averaging nearly 11 million viewers per night.
  18. I'm all for calling people out and putting people's feet to the fire, but some (maybe Norah is one of them) can't seem to move past the fact that dude is president. He isn't going to change and somehow become a better president (or person). The sooner people realize this, the better. There's also this strange need to nitpick anything and everything. Dr. Fauci misses one day and it's suddenly... 'Crisis at the White House: Day 1234'. Norah needs to show some level of professionalism. If she wants to voice her opinion, label it as such and have at it. I'm just tired of the 5-10 second pauses following any report they show about Trump for her to either roll her eyes or bite her tongue.
  19. I tried to give her a chance, but her open disdain for Trump and his administration turned me off. Her lack of objectivity is shocking when compared to Lester and David. SIDE NOTE: Just to be completely clear...I am not a supporter of Trump (never have been/never will be). I just wish more journalists would abide by certain tenets of journalism, especially during these times.
  20. I think priorities have shifted (for obvious reasons) and they will unveil it at some point in the future. They accomplished the goal of having it done by the midterms, which was the main reason for building it in the first place.
  21. The newbies are finally on-air (albeit a week later than anticipated). Terrence Lee replaces Rafer Weigel as the new co-anchor of Good Day Wake Up, 4-6A. He started Wednesday (I think). Brittney Garzillo started yesterday & will be a reporter/fill-in anchor.
  22. Guess it's asking too much for people to take this matter seriously and not make it about themselves. Disgraceful.
  23. While I can’t speak to WGN (I don’t watch them often), the ‘social distancing’ wasn’t taking place this morning on any channels, so it could be for presentation purposes tonight why it’s being done. The real test will be tomorrow AM and onward. Honestly, I don’t see the point of it in these situations.
  24. After a long break, WFLD has returned to using ‘Studio 32.’ In addition, they have made some small changes (adding the FOX 32 logo, etc..) to clean up the space. Now that the space next to them is empty, I wonder if they plan to expand into that area and maybe move the newsroom upstairs. It would be too good of an opportunity to pass up.
  25. If you’re referring to ‘this’ being the COVID-19 outbreak, it didn’t stop them from having a outdoor concert with that Harry Styles kid about a week or so ago. No reason for them not go outside as long as they’re being safe and whatnot.
