  1. How far WFTV has fallen. I know choppers are expensive, but still. I thought WOFL (FOX 35) shared a chopper with Spectrum News 13.
  2. I love Leslie’s work and I’m glad we can still see her on channel 7. She knows her stuff and she’s a great person. Kudos to her.
  3. Regardless of how long they’ll stick around, they’re still great hires for channel 5. Even though they may never be able to surpass channel 7 in the ratings.
  4. I agree. Those two, along with Disney, are good. I already watch them and applied to a bunch of their stations. But, are there any Nexstar/Tegna stations worth watching/applying to?
  5. I’m getting dangerously close to removing Nexstar and Tegna from my list of stations to work at. Are there any stations that are worth watching/applying to?
  6. I don’t live in the Seattle area, but I was curious as to how the stations handled news chopper usage for coverage of the Seahawks Super Bowl parade last week. Do any of the stations share chopper footage?
  7. I believe it was WFTV’s chopper at one point. I saw video of it at the Orlando airport. Side note: does KSTP still have their own chopper?
  8. Action News recently debuted updated openings for the winter season. I noticed something missing, though: shots of Chopper 6 flying around. I wonder why it wasn’t included in the openings.
  9. I remember when he started. Consummate professional. At least he wasn’t pushed out.
  10. I bet these stations are breathing a sigh of relief. Their chances of being divested/sold may have gone down, but who knows? I’m shocked that KUSA isn’t on the list, since they’re one of TEGNA’s crown jewels.
  11. I used to think that WPTV was one of the few bright spots in the Scripps group, if not the ONLY bright spot. However I have serious doubts about them now, with so many people retiring and them getting rid of Chopper 5 (the only news chopper in West Palm Beach). Any Scripps stations worth watching?
  12. I did some digging and apparently N29S has found new life in Miami. It’s the new Chopper 6 for WTVJ. Same red paint scheme. The video I saw for it (I follow their photojournalist on Instagram) only showed the chopper with the NBC 6 logo. It probably is a shared chopper with WSCV.
  13. If I was working for a Tegna station (or even a Nexstar station, especially if they’re in the same market), I’d update the resume tape ASAP. Plan for the worst, pray for the best.
  14. Are there any Sinclair stations actually worth watching/working at? I deleted the weather apps from several stations months ago, but I’m willing to give them another chance.
  15. I’m pleasantly surprised. Action News is known for not hiring from other stations in the market. But I love Jessica’s work. They made a great choice.
