You guys are mentioning ratings from 10/15+ years ago. It's a different time now. Numbers are going to keep going down in this day and age. People don't watch Evening News broadcasts. Period.

It looks as though they are trying to make Alex a 3rd co-anchor. It's obvious they don't want to make traffic reporter her only job at the station.

I guess that means no new set in the near future. It’s almost a decade old, right?

Don’t like the changes to the morning program. Elise isn’t good for the mornings. 

CBS This Morning isn't going anywhere, it brings in money for the network; regardless of the ratings.

Where's Studio 55 though? I thought WLNY used WCBS's studio.

This is a big loss to WCBS. Lou Young has been a staple of New York news for over 30 years now from WABC to WNBC to WCBS. I really wish he'd come back to WABC, but I don't see that as likely.

I definitely did! Long night last night! Ugh.

I don't know if this has happened before, but Elise Finch is anchoring WLNY News at 9 right now. And it's election night...

I hope and pray that their 20th year will be the last. And I said it before, I'll say it again; I rather continue watching soap operas, court shows, and game show than to watch

dumb daytime talk shows like The View (ABC) and The Talk (CBS).

Daytime Talk Shows have an audience. Coming from someone who works at one.

Oh my goodness! I'm sorry for his family and the loss to WCBS. My sincere condolences. Great local NY reporter.

 

Didn't know he was at Channel 2 for only 30 years, it felt like he was there longer.

Eyewitness News is reporting he died of a Heart Attack.

 

Watching right now it seems they've updated their morning backdrop slightly. It looks nice

 

Last night the backdrop was updated also on the news at 11. It's a brighter nighttime shot of the city. You can actually see the stars in the sky. Nice.

 

WABC has a ways to go in social media and website-wise. WCBS and WNBC are way ahead.

 

I actually think, WABC iPhone app is way more superior than the WCBS and WNBC app.

Anyone see that the Good Day Cafe segment on GDNY now has it's own dedicated set. They built a full blown kitchen scene somewhere in the studio. Looks nice.
