  1. In what is either CBS News going rogue or trying to save face (or both?), CBS Evening News did a largely straightforward report of Pelley’s firing complete with a tribute to him
  2. There is certainly a window for ABC to try something more serious, even if it’s just for Hulu and Disney+; on top of that it feels like we’re maybe a year or two away from Nightline being back at 11:35…the road is there if they want to take it. But I definitely think ABC would take Vega back; by all accounts her exit was fairly amicable in a “who’s gonna turn down 60 Minutes?” way
  3. Also out are Cecilia Vega and EP Tanya Simon, among others, as Nick Bilton (a former NYT columnist with no experience in TV news) is named the new EP
  4. This is the second Hearst station in as many months to pick up Family Feud for next season; WBAL is using it to replace Kelly as well. I wonder if this is a group-wide deal
  5. Judge extends TRO another week
  6. Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, Hot Bench, Flip Side and The Perfect Line all renewed for next season
  7. DirecTV has filed its own lawsuit to block the merger
  8. Tamron Hall renewed for eighth season
  9. https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/ms-now-shake-up-ali-velshi-11th-hour-morning-joe-daytime-1236692201/ Cabrera leaving part of a number of big changes: -Stephanie Ruhle leaving The 11th Hour to anchor a new 9-11am block as Morning Joe’s 9am hour gets cut -Ali Velshi becomes the new anchor of The 11th Hour with Jacob Soboroff taking Velshi’s weekend slots -Alicia Menendez becoming an afternoon anchor as Cabrera leaves and Chris Jansing moves off the anchor chair to become MS NOW’s chief political correspondent -Luke Russert taking Menendez’s spot on The Weeknight -All In with Chris Hayes going back to a 5 night a week schedule after taking Mondays off in recent years
  10. NBCU is continuing to offer Steve and Karamo as reruns, and apparently the Maury reruns they distribute get surprisingly good numbers in a number of markets (Milwaukee being one of them). I also wonder if simulcasting blocks of stations’ diginets could be a strategy; maybe Sinclair stations could simulcast parts of Comet or ROAR’s schedules
  11. NBCUniversal getting out of first run syndication; Access Hollywood, Steve Wilkos, Karamo and Access Live to end after this season
  12. Extra renewed for season 33(!)
  13. The Jennifer Hudson Show renewed for next season
  14. Sherri also not returning next season
  15. It’s official: The Kelly Clarkson Show to end after this season
