From Huntington-Charleston WV market, WSAZ anchor/reporter Bill Murray last day was Jan 15th. Bill Murray first came to WSAZ in mid 80's, left in 1990 came back a few years later. He is off the beach to anchor at Raycom's WECT in Wilmington, NC. After living in this market and visiting I never thought that Bill Murray would leave WSAZ. Good luck to Bill at WECT.

Not sure if this has been used for awhile. I just noticed this tonight on WEWS 6pm newscast with new Scripps lighthouse close.

WOWK has added the Nexstar close to end of newscasts. Since Nexstar is running the 4 WV Media Stations under a time brokerage agreement until FCC gives the blessing.

Speaking of WKBW TV, Keith Radford was Inducted in Buffalo Broadcasters Hall Of Fame in Sept. Well deserved for Keith one of the best in Buffalo TV along with Irv Weinstein, Tom Jolls, and Rick Azar. Here is the link via WKBW's Youtube page also listen at the 4:21 mark "it still lives on".

WNIR 100.1 FM Kent/Akron OH use "The Spirit of Akron, theme aka spirit of texas. Has been in use for many years. Also a radio station (WWKC) in Cambridge, OH uses "Power News" by Non Stop, for the open of thier newscasts. -
KGUN9 is using the Scripps V2 graphics for the weather segments.

Long time Pittsburgh meteorologist Dennis Bowman at CBS Owned KDKA-TV is retiring on Friday April 17, 2015, no word on replacement. Yes.. The Talk of Akron. WNIR.. I'm glad the Klaus Brothers have never changed the jingle package. Every since Howie Chizek and Tom Erickson's death in 2012 the station has never been the same. Even after Stan Piatt and Maggie Fuller left the station in 2013 and Bob Earley in 2014. I hope The Spirit of Akron lives on for years to come at WNIR. If ain't broke, don't fix it (same goes for WJZ, with Chroma Cues) -

In Pittsburgh it's different. WPXI airs Jeopardy at 7 and Wheel at 730. Same goes for to former sister stations WTOV and WJAC.. -

Wow on WHAS audio.. They closed out the 530 news to the 6pm news with tease. They are having some audio problems, they used "This is Home" cut with tease and went to open but without Voiceover. I captured the audio of it... -

Kudos to WHAS as well for using something different from the rest of the Gannett stations. It reminds of what WCCO does the CBS Enforcer cuts and opens. Step away from the total standard group look and sound....WCCO 2013 with New CBS O&O graphics .. -

If WHAS gets the Gannett looks means end of Gari's "Newschannel" going strong since 1991. If that happens "Newschannel" will only has 2 stations still using it both being owned by Raycom. WAFB in Baton Rouge has used "Newschannel" since 1990 but added new generation cuts in Mid 2000's. The other one being WTOC Savannah. Has been using the same cuts since 1987. I say rock on WTOC a WAFB and maybe WHAS. I always say if ain't broke don't fix it. Look at WPVI, and WJZ. Alright I'm off my soapbox.
