I was a rooting fan of Suki from her days as a reporter from CBS2. If I said anything that offended you, I will also apologize.

Thank you, but I'm the one who needed to apologize to you, because you deserved it. My emotions sometimes get in the way of a good conversation with nice people. Thank you again. I appreciate your acceptance.
  2. Because I didn't like the way he things he said about Suki and things the PIX execs are running things.

Sure, you don't like her, and you don't have to like her, and no one has to force anyone to like what they don't; it just that I really don't like it when anyone talks about her like she's revolting. Sure she's not the best journalist in the market, but how everyone treats her like she's the worst journalist in any market, or even all of TV, just angers me.

And what I said was wrong. And he doesn't deserve the words I gave to him. I apologize deeply.

  3. Please read Dabx's comment over NY Weather and you get the clear and honest reason why Dan and Marysol at 4-6 isn't working, sadly.

No one but me on the PC and a few thousand others are watching. Barely reaches the scale. Plus Suki and Kori recently rose in ratings. People were watching at that timeslot.

And cbs2idiots, stay classy, you jackhole. Just like the rest of them.

I was watching the Morning News this morning,

Around 7h15, All the hosts are on their knees, doing exercices with a Barack Obama look-alike. I changed the channel.

Do we really need to see the hosts exercising on a news show?

I know they are trying to be light and fluffy, but at 7h15, shouldn't they be doing the news? Keep the working out stuff for 8h45.

It's the morning news, with lifestyle segments just like every other station with one. The hosts must do things like this.
  5. Congrats to John; I'm very happy for him.

I really enjoyed him during his stint on World News Now, and will love to watch him on PIX during the 5 and 10 when he rejoins the station. I have enjoyed Scott as anchor (yes) and will wish him well as just sports anchor. By the way, has this happen before? A main/sports anchor transitioning to just sports?

Because I've seen the opposite happen.

Oh and the station's website looks different.

  6.

Oh, let us just get one last reminder of what WPIX was back in October 2010. So they were even telling viewers that the new 10pm newscast was horrible. How the heck was this promoting the station? I don't know how an actual station, in the biggest market, can get this stupid (I'm not referring to now, I'm referring to the old days). I know this is from years ago, but for some reason I just came across it and wanted to share this:

    :bang:

thanks for one last memory. Boy, were they so upfront about it.

The graphics look like they were smashed with a hammer and got fragmented. It's kinda like nails on a chalkboard to me when they overlap like that. Yuck. It's the same basic design as the WLS and WABC graphics but these are taken to a cartoonish extreme.

Finally someone else who feels the same way. I hate the way the L3 graphics come in and out.

It takes like a second for them to come, while other stations' graphics come in 1/2 a second faster.

That annoys me. Even more grating when the come in late.

I agree. Instead of signing off at 10:40 they should do the sports desk then at the end of that segment have Tamsen back and sign off. It's different. Not too bad. But when nothing is really going on in sports idk what they're gonna do.

To me, that makes no sense. They just signed off for the news and then took it to the Sports Desk. It's separate from the news. It needs it's own end and sign-off. Seems more traditional than what you did.
  9.

Pop News is being expanded into it's own 30 minute program 5 nights a week on ABC Family according to promos running on ABC.

    Wow.

I get used to that on GMA, but cutting a half hour of repeat programming on ABCF for that isn't going to work for me.

I give it five months, if not four..

  10.

Boy, social media as well as Tamsen Fadal's twitter page is full of viewers saying that they saw her texting on air. Jerry Barmash from Tuned In even posted a pic to prove it. Not that I thought this wouldn't happen. I remember during the old format, after the first break, they showed Tamsen walking away from the green screen texting away.

Here's the video, skip to 0:12. (credit to Mike Audsley)

And here's the pic from yesterday's 10pm news of her tweeting: http://t.co/japHPZJymv

Many broadcasters text and tweet during commercials of broadcasts as of late. Lots of people do that.

You probably didn't notice the music and the fade to black, but they were going to a break.

And the the video took place a year ago too.

You really must not like Tamsen Fadal.

Oh and by the way. The station has new graphics now. May the snarking begin...

  11.

For me Josh didn't make the show so it's not a complete loss for me. This is certainly Today's best chance of ratings gains but at the same time, Amy is a very strong anchor and part of the team.

With this, I would expect David Muir to replace George if he gets World News because I doubt they will go all female.

Something else I find interesting, both Josh and Sam have gone to the NBC side. I wonder if NBC will try to steal someone from NBC? Maybe Natalie or Ann? Just a thought.

I know you mean ABC, so it would be very interesting if and when it makes a steal from NBC. The most (or least) surprising would definitely be Ann Curry. Let's see where things go from here on out.
  12. GMA debuted a new part of its really small studio today called the "#SocialSquare", a "groundbreaking new digital studio engaging viewers on a daily basis with the broadcast and social conversation".

More info is at the show's Yahoo page: http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/social-square-unveiled-gma-120059753--abc-news-tv.html?vp=1

Okay, who else thinks this is a ripoff of Today's Orange Room? (other than this having a cooler name and great features)

  13. I just heard it straight from Mike and Sheinelle:

Starting tomorrow, FOX 29 will expand its morning news broadcast to 4AM and name it The FOX29 Morning News. It will air from 4-7 before Good Day, and will probably feature the same anchors and reporters as before. This isn't a test or special airing for the snowstorm coverage. This is permanent.

So let me be first to say this: 4:25 was a stupid idea.

  14.

What. WHAT? Robin Roberts is LESBIAN? Call me a dumb@ss but I honestly had no idea nor would I have ever guessed. No matter. It just surprised the hell out of me is all.

I was very surprised at this too, as I'd never thought someone like Robin (who I thought could be straight as an arrow and married for all I know). I read about it at the NY Daily News website and couldn't believe it.

However, am I a sinister person to believe that ABC/GMA will try to manipulate her coming out to attract even more people to them? Because the moment I read the headline I thought, Great. Now people will love GMA even more just because Robin Roberts came out.

I didn't think of this scenario as quickly as I did with the bone marrow transplant and recovery thing, but this pretty much makes sense, as GMA is #1 and is pretty much game for nearly anything to stay #1. I hope this doesn't happen. Too sad and sickening.
