  1. Apparently, FiOS1 has recently switched from Evolution to Metropolis (or are they using both?), given these clips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hE9NVDADrQ, , &
  2. I hope they keep that fake movie poster with Roger Grimsby somewhere; I saw it in one video with David Novarro in the newsroom.
  3. My favorite cut of TiH is the cut that WTSP uses; from what I've seen of WUSA, they should use that cut; it conveys seriousness.
  4. Where can you find a soda?
  5. Oddly, the Comcast Port Murray guide doesn't seem to know about the 4PM news yet; it still thinks they're showing "The Doctors" at 4PM. Hopefully the Rovi guys or whoever will update it. Also, what will they do with the empty studios and newsroom on South Mountain when they relocate to PPL Center? Will they lease them out? WPVI could easily expand their relationship with the station and set up an alternate studio and full-fledged Lehigh Valley newsroom in there. Hopefully they'll also replace the grey shingles on the outside; I saw it on their website's virtual tour, and it looks pretty aged, although the large glass atrium looks nice. Also on that tour, they mention something called the "FMZ Heritage Network" that's apparently broadcast on Service Electric's "Cable FM" service; anybody know anything about that?
  6. WFMZ still uses Eric Gordon.
  7. They actually sell USA Today at McDonalds, so it does live up to it's nickname.
  8. I once saw a photo, and they have these translucent maps of the Tri-State Area in one area, and one of them still had the 90's EWN logo on them. And I once saw a video on 7Online about an Election, and it featured David Novarro in the newsroom, and as he passed by one pillar, there was what appeared to be some sort of fake movie poster with Roger Grimsby on it. Anyone know anything about that?
  9. It's the one he wasn't looking for; I've got Aspergers (a form of austism), so I can sympathize with him.
  10. And now Sinclair has sunken to destroying other people's property; I half-expect them to be dealing something like black-market eagle meat or something.
  11. Apparently, Jeff Barnd kinda went crazy on one WLVI newscast in September 2001, jumping out of his chair and dancing around the studio after the top story; shortly after that, he was demoted and soon left.
  12. All the ABC O&O stations that carry the duo (except for WLS, apparently) air it as Jep, then Wheel; from what I can tell, most other stations that air them together do it the opposite (including WLNY when they aired the duo).
  13. Also of note, from that video, if you look closely at the program running, it says "G3 Vertigo Test". First off, I thought that they had renamed G3 to The Mill; second, unless Vertigo is the name of the program they were using or the control room software they use, this means that Gannett's internal codename of this package is Vertigo.
  14. Regular Show's pretty good, but it's for older kids and teens. There are many adult fans, as well. Go to TVTropes and look up "Periphery Demographic".
  15. Has anyone else noticed how WABC's live streaming on their website seems to be delayed? I think it's at least 3 minutes behind what I see on our actual TV. Does anyone know why they do this?
  16. Oh god, the mental images. I think they might be burned onto the backs of my eyeballs. That should not happen on a morning news program, or any news program.
  17. What was that garglemesh? Did you fall asleep at your keyboard or something?
  18. This isn't the first time one of Boston's news helicopters have crashed; remember the KOMO crash? Apparently, the helicopter that crashed in that incident was previously the WFXT helicopter; by the time of the accident, all Fox 25 markings had been stripped off (it was serving a temp duty as KOMO and KING's copter while they were undergoing upgrades).
  19. Has anybody noticed how WNYW's 1999-2000 era graphics resemble the ones used at WFLD around the same time (before WFLD adopted Streaming News)? If so, does anybody know who made these graphics?
  20. They dumped the 4:30 movie around 1982, as to compete against WNBC with a 5PM newscast.
  21. That WRAL open looks very similar to the open used by WFMZ in 1999: I'm not sure if they ripped off WRAL or if they were made by the same people.
  22. Well, that was quick. I hope that the next time they negotiate with Fox Sports over their RSNs, they finally add YES Network, as Fox is now the majority shareholder.
  23. Maybe they're resurfacing the floors like KYW was.
  24. I just caught a brand-new style for the topicals. Finally. Also, last night's 6 PM had another idiot interrupt a live shot; this time it was NJ Burkett at Jones Beach (it happened one or two weeks ago on First @ 4:00; there Kemberly Richardson was reporting from Union Square before some moron started spouting "Baba Booey, Baba Booey, Howard Stern's penis", like Peter did in Congress on Family Guy).
  25. This isn't their first try; they attempted News 9 San Antonio in 2002, but disputes with Belo put an end to that channel, as well as News 24 Houston, and partially crippled News 14 Carolinas.
