1. WFSB has some water damage
2. I found this at the end of a tape this week: KMBC from 1989. Don't all of us wish we had perfect anchor hair?
3. At minimum, it seems like Ms. Reed isn't well-liked among newsroom staff. This story could take an interesting turn. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/12/8/was-the-email-to-atlanta-anchor-a-fake
4. Longtime PBS sewing show host dies https://wptblog.org/2017/11/wisconsin-public-television-remembers-nancy-zieman/
5. KCTV named a new GM today, Chuck Poduska from the Meredith corporate level. Their current GM has only been there a couple of years.
6. Disney's trying to get bigger (note, this would not include TV stations/FOX News/FOX Sports)
7. KCTV and ex-chief meteorologist Chris Suchan parted ways last week. Former KSHB meteorologist Brett Anthony is back in town to work at KCTV (unknown shift). Here at WDAF-TV, we have promoted Megan Dillard from reporter to weekend evening co-anchor.

9. I've noticed the Scripps ads too. Even with an ad-blocker, the text remains hidden for ten seconds.
10. Article on FOX O&O news expansion http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/fox-stations-late-night-news-syndicated-comedy-1202555298/
11. Former WFLD anchor Jeff Herndon is returning to Wichita, as anchor/assistant news director at KSNW.
12. Gray Television is whacking some talent at KYTV and KSPR. http://www.news-leader.com/story/news/breaking-news/2017/08/18/kspr-news-anchor-jerry-jacob-others-laid-off-friday/579491001/ http://www.ktts.com/news/local-news/several-layoffs-announced-at-ky3-and-kspr
13. Yes. Some poor promotions producer probably spent two hours putting it together-- and after all that, the lead story is a meaningless preseason NFL game (Yes, I understand KPNX aired the game).
14. That's funny, but sad. I guarantee my city would have towed the truck within 12 hours. Heck, not that long ago KCTV left a camera inside a box at a downtown location at night, and the bomb squad blew it up the next morning.
15. I've seen this happen twice before, stations suing to collect money from people who quit while under contract. A station really can't force anyone to come to work. But it sets a bad precedent if you agree to two years, and quit after six months without consequence.
16. Personally, I prefer just to start the newscast with no headlines at all.
17. This went under the radar, but KCTV swapped morning anchors. Alexis del Cid is now anchoring the Better Kansas City lifestyle show. Gina Bullard moved from Better K.C. to morning news co-anchor.
18. KJRH hired two veteran journalists instead of a couple of kids who would work for peanuts? Madness. But seriously, good for them.
19. Stella Thurkill was one of my anchors when I worked at KTKA in Topeka. I had no idea she still worked in TV news. That's pretty good longevity for a female on-air talent. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/7/26/out-the-door-in-billings
20. Welp...
21. Brooke Wagner, most recently of KDVR, is going to Tucson to anchor at KOLD-TV.
22. I've heard KMBC has plucked WGAL's News Director for their open ND job (another Hearst-to-Hearst transfer). That seems like it would be a good get, considering how well WGAL performs.
23. We finally got to announce our new anchor today-- former KSDK anchor Pat McGonigle. http://fox4kc.com/2017/07/07/fox-4-announces-new-anchorreporter/
24. They're having a company seminar on producing better shows and writing better teases.
25. A KNBC-TV vehicle either overheated in the 100-degree weather, or got a bit too close to the action covering a wildfire. (Cue the old "Can you still give me a live shot? joke.)
